We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Augustah Allen a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Augustah, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Have you signed with an agent or manager? Why or why not?
I’m currently represented in Milan, Italy, with Boom Models, which helps me secure opportunities in the European market. I do not have a mother agency in the States, so I also handle my own creative collaborations and brand partnerships.
I connected with Boom Models when I took a trip to Italy to scout out agencies, and they were interested in signing me. I decided to work with them because they align with my career goals, and I felt they could provide the right opportunities to grow as a model.
I believe they chose to work with me because of my versatility, professionalism, and strong presence both in person, in front of the camera and on social media. My ability to adapt to different styles, combined with my dedication and experience working with various brands, has contributed to this.
Augustah, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Augustah Allen, a fashion model, content creator, and writer. My journey into the industry started at a young age—flipping through fashion magazines, experimenting with style, and practicing poses in my mother’s heels. My passion for modeling only grew stronger over the years, leading me to compete in pageants and eventually pursue it professionally after earning my Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Global Business in 2019.
Since then, I’ve worked with brands like Adidas, Aveda, Moncler, Redken and Revolve to name a few balancing both high fashion and lifestyle modeling. Beyond modeling, I also create digital content, including fashion, travel, and personal development insight. I share these insights on my platforms and my blog, Unfiltered with Augustah.
What sets me apart is my authenticity, confidence, and versatility. I don’t just model—I tell stories through my work. I understand branding and aesthetics, and I use that to help clients and brands connect with their audiences in a meaningful way. Whether it’s through editorial shoots, brand partnerships, or personal storytelling, I bring a unique perspective to every project.
I’m most proud of my resilience and growth in this industry. Modeling is competitive, and staying true to myself while evolving creatively has been a journey I’m grateful for.
For those looking to work with me, follow my journey, or collaborate—know that I’m passionate about quality, creativity, and authenticity. I love working with brands and creatives who share that vision, and I’m always open to opportunities that challenge and inspire me.
In your view, what can society to do to best support artists, creatives and a thriving creative ecosystem?
Society can best support artists and creatives by valuing their work and ensuring fair compensation. Too often, creatives are expected to work for exposure rather than being paid for their time and talent. Brands, agencies, and businesses should invest in artists through competitive rates and long-term collaborations.
Education and representation also play a huge role. Schools should offer more arts programs and business training to help creatives market themselves and build sustainable careers. Diverse voices need to be amplified so more people feel seen and encouraged to pursue creative fields.
Communities can foster a thriving creative ecosystem by providing local art spaces, networking events, and collaborative opportunities. While digital platforms have expanded access, in-person support through galleries, pop-ups, and showcases remains essential.
Ultimately, society needs to shift its mindset and recognize that art, fashion, writing, and content creation shape culture and drive innovation. Supporting creatives means investing in a more vibrant and inspiring world.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
the most rewarding aspect of being a creative is the ability to bring ideas to life and connect with people through my work. Whether it’s modeling, content creation, or writing, I love the process of storytelling—using visuals, emotions, and personal experiences to inspire and engage others. Seeing a vision come together, whether in a campaign, a photoshoot, or a blog post, is incredibly fulfilling.
I also find so much joy in self-expression and growth. Creativity allows me to continuously evolve, challenge myself, and explore new perspectives. No two projects are ever the same, and that keeps things exciting and dynamic!
Beyond personal fulfillment, I love that my work has the power to resonate with others. Whether it’s someone feeling seen through my content, gaining confidence from a fashion campaign, or being inspired by my journey, knowing that my creativity impacts people in a meaningful way makes everything worth it.
