We were lucky to catch up with Audrey Lindsey recently and have shared our conversation below.
Audrey, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What do you think it takes to be successful?
Their are 5 things I tell people when it comes to being successful and that is staying consistent, staying committed, love what you do, stay & think positive and have fun while doing it.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Audrey Lindsey. I am a 26 yr old from Memphis, TN. Store located at 5200 Park Ave Suite 105. Here at Apiphanys we hand make all of our products. Candles, room/car sprays, diffuser plug ins, Shea butters, and hand soaps. Having both a luxury line and basic line. I started making candles a little over 4yrs ago. It all started after a bad breakup and I was making candles as a hobby in my moms kitchen during my spare time. While working a 9 to 5 I began selling candles to close relatives and friends. Everyone loved them and people began to ask me to set up in events and markets here in Memphis. Over the course of my first year I had completed over 30 events continuously growing the business in person with tons of people. Beginning yr 2 of me making candles I decided to set serious goals once I seen how many people believed in Apiphany. I set a date right before Covid19 hit telling my mom I no longer wanted to work a job I wanted to be a full time business store owner, Two weeks later I lose my job. I felt kind of stuck it the beginning because it wasn’t necessarily on my timing which forced me to move faster with my goals. I took my saving and literally prayed over it and asked God to guide my footsteps to what’s next for me and my life. I began doing door to door deliveries and drop offs exclusively weekly to all my supporters through the entire Memphis and surrounding areas. The support was crazy. From that moment I knew Apiphany would be big. I continued to push and stay focused daily and Mothers Day 2020 my business partner and I signed for Apiphanys and Wilsons Grooming Gallery & Styles Store Location. My business partner by the name of Trey Wilson has been a barber from over 15 yrs. Both of us with the same ambition & dream to be successful combined both businesses a salon/suites and candle store in one. After having a very successful first year of opening we went full force building a warehouse for only Apiphany. Being able to purchase a 60 gallon candle wax melter handmade just for my company. With billboards in Memphis, Jackson & Atlanta the love and support continuously grows everyday. It still WOWS me in this moment. Things happen so fast. I really had to put my big girl pants on. Committing to so much, having to maintain discipline. Not hanging out so much, mind strictly on what’s next for my brand and building it. I’m most proud of the faith and courage it took for me to get here. Some days it still doesn’t feel real and I sit back and look at pictures from the beginning to now and it literally blows me away. This small idea turned into a huge small business. I can never go anywhere in Memphis now without someone saying Heyyy Apiphany. I’m so thankful for having a loving family and close friends that stayed beside me during this journey. Also, to my supporters I’m so grateful. You are one of the several reasons I continue to push through because some days and not always great. But it’s all about staying consistent. Those rough days don’t last forever. Ive met so many amazing people with this business and I’m forever thankful for that. Now offering candle making classes showing people the same techniques I use to make candles, candle party and also offering wholesale has been so much fun and a blessing as well.
Does your business have multiple or supplementary revenue streams (like a ATM machine at a barbershop, etc)?
Yes, we have a vending and drink machine and suites for stylist, estheticians etc.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
I think being a loving person and having a great product helped me build relationships and my reputation within the candle industry.
