Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Audrey Kacel. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Audrey, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?

Social media is a very important part of my business. 95% of my clients find me through my social media, so keeping it relevant and up to date is super important! I manage my tattoo account and we’ll as my tattoo shop account on my own, which is a lot of work, but I like having a hand in what gets put out there!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

My name is Audrey Kacel known to many as Kaceltattoos. I am the owner of Broken Vessel tattoo in Holland Michigan, which me and a business partner recently opens up. I’ve been tattooing for 4 years and absolutely love this industry

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I really started to seriously invest in my social media accounts during the COVID lockdown in 2020. The tattoo shop I worked at was shut down for 4 months and I wanted to reach new clients still. Luckily one of my good friends is a social media manger and she taught me how to utilize social media as a business tool. She taught me things like the importance of posting every day at a similar time, using stories, location hashtags, and more to grow my audience.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?

I feel like most people think of tattoo artists as stubborn, stuck up, or rude, which makes it really important to treat clientele with great customer service. In high school and college I worked as a waitress and various other customer service jobs that taught me the patience and people skills that I still use today. A little kindness goes a long way.
