We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Audra George a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Audra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a time you helped a customer really get an amazing result through their work with you.
Hello, I am Audra and I am the owner of Pretty Neat: An Organizational Solution in Oklahoma City, OK. We are a service based company that helps clients get their homes organized. This might seem like it’s just all about a pretty space or a “magazine ready” home but the benefits of organization encompasses way more than that. You see, clutter and chaos in your home actually impact your well being and can contribute to anxiety, depression, and overwhelm; it can impact relationships inside the home, it can even impact finances- you buy things you know you have but cannot find, you misplace bills and don’t pay them on time, etc. The list goes on and on about how organization can improve lives.
We have many success stories over the past 5 1/2 years but a recent one sticks out. Does this sound familiar? You have lived in a home for over 30 years; clutter has built up over the years. Life gets busy and there are more important things to tackle than the organization of your home; Plus, organizing is overwhelming to think about. Where do you start? What do you need to do to get organized? Until one day, you realize the cutter is affecting you. It’s causing stress and taking up time in your day to look for things; something has to change. This was Ann when she contacted us.
Ann was ready for a change and needed our help. We worked through our process of doing a consult, coming up with a plan, and implementing that plan to organize her entire home. We gradually worked through every area of Ann’s home including her garage and attic. Some clients say they are ready to get rid of things but aren’t serious, but Ann meant business! We had a great plan and Ann was ready to participate and get rid of years of clutter that was no longer serving her or her family.
As we worked through each space, she got rid of literal truckloads of items that her family no longer needed and the transformation was exceptional. Ann already had a nice home but as we started to put the things back that she wanted to keep, it was really clear what we had accomplished. According to Ann, the process was “life changeing”. Her home felt lighter, she was less stressed, she knew exactly what she had and where it was. She said she wished she had reached out for help years ago.
We love helping all our clients and have had many over the years that made an impact on us. Our heart and our mission, as a company, is to help others and some clients just become extra special. This was Ann.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Prior to starting Pretty Neat: An Organizational Solution in 2018, I was in the medical field. I have a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy (PT) and saw patients in their home environments for over 12 years. While treating patients in their homes, I realized a great need. Just like patients needed help with their ailments, many also needed help with their homes. Clutter and chaos was really affecting most people in one way or another. From adding to stress and overwhelm, to making it physically difficult to get around their homes, disorganization can really impact us. I felt like I could help. I started researching about becoming a professional organizer and pretty quickly decided to give the business a try. I came up with a name, got help with a website, and started posting on social media and other free sites about my local services.
Not too long after, I got my first call to come and do a consultation. It went great and I came home with a check in hand for the project. My husband and I thought this could work! I could not only continue to help others through home organization, but it could work as a business as well. Things were slow to start but between year one two, my business grew 800%. Before I knew it, I was needing to add team members to support me and help with projects. We are now 5 1/2 years in, and we have grown every year since.
I am super proud of this company and its success. Being a service based business, I love that we get to help others and actually see the fruits of our labor. We strive for consistency, excellent customer service, and treating others as we would want to be treated and it has paid off. We really try to meet each client’s needs and goals for them. In this day and age where everyone is so busy, we try to take something off the client’s plate and take care of their project for them as much as possible.
I also feel like my past work in the medical field really sets Pretty Neat apart from many other organizers. I am super comfortable in others’ homes, know about the clients’ physical function, and what needs to happen to improve their living situation. I also feel like my medical background adds a trust factor with our clients. We truly try to have their needs and goals in mind from every angle.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Consistency is key! I absolutely feel this has helped us grow our business and helped our reputation within our market. Since the beginning of 2018 and starting Pretty Neat: An Organizational Solution, we have been consistent with our branding, our message, and putting ourselves out there on social media, on our website, and beyond. Potential clients watch and the more consistent you are, the more they trust you as a company. They learn how you can serve them.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for us comes from happy, repeat customers that leave reviews and tell their family and friends about our services. Another thing that has really helped us is working on keywords on Google and SEO so as clients learn about our services, they can easily find us online and contact us. These have been major focuses for us and it has paid off!
