We were lucky to catch up with At-N Ausara-Lasaru recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi At-N, thanks for joining us today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
I had expressed to a former manager that I felt guilty about messing up a customer’s order and it was more so how he expressed his response: “No, don’t allow yourself to feel guilt. Just learn from the mistake and move on.”
That day I realized not to allow such emotions consume me and to keep my sights set forward.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’ve been involved in the arts since my younger years but professionally since I was 18. Currently 27, I am now proudly deemed a polymath. My art is riddled with gothic undertones and occult knowledge in which brings me utmost peace to create. I focus on my musican trajectory, which includes songwriting, vocals and producing. I also balance that with filmmaking, which includes but isn’t limited to music videos, photography and short films.

What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Seeing the constant growth of imagination. We sow seeds constantly as creative and to watch them start as faint instances and transform into projects that bloom through consistent dedication and grit.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I aim to diminish the stigmas surrounding darkness. Modern western society at least tends to ostracize any glorification of it in the most neutral terms. I feel within the darker corners of our being lies our most important aspects in which are worthy of admiration, of celebration.
