We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Aspen Gitter. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Aspen below.
Hi Aspen, thanks for joining us today. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
The first time I knew that I wanted to get into producing/DJing was when I was at my first Ultra. I just was watching what was going on and I just was watching the other DJs and I was just thinking myself, I could do that. The next day I just bought DJ gear and I started to learn. I always had to passion for electronic music, but I didn’t realize how much I loved it until I started DJing. The rest is history, fast forward a couple years and here we are.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into the industry through the passion of my music and what I’ve been creating. Just like I stated earlier, I started DJing and right after that I really dived straight into the industry itself. I produce music and a really songs once a month now and I’m really trying to grow my network as well as get my music out as many as possible. I still DJ quite often which really gives me a platform to share my music with others. I’m proud of my growth and how quickly it’s gotten here. I’ve only been producing for a short time and at this point I’m at now quickly is really an achievement in my mind.

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
My first ever Dj gig Dj for a total of three minutes. I was back to back with somebody And we brought the wrong software. It was extremely embarrassing and it was the first time being seen in front of my friends. From that, though, I realized how much I loved it and how much I didn’t want to quit. So I worked hard to really get myself together and take it more seriously than I did before. Now hear I am, doing music for a living.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I think the most recording aspect of being an artist is having other people really connect with my music. When people are having a good time listening to DJ or enjoy the songs that I make it really makes me feel that I’m helping other people. I’m helping other people and bringing them up which is really important in my eyes.
