Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Asianna Mashore. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Asianna thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
For my brand, I did not want not to use anything similar to the business names I’ve come across over the years, such as the typical “Lux” “Experience” “Collection” etc. Shoot my very first business was named “The Lolle Experience” but I knew I wanted something more meaningful. I wanted my business name to be more of a statement.
After making a list of about 10-20 names, I decided to take a break and pray about it. In March 2019, I prayed for clarity for my business name, I asked God to reveal to me what HE wanted my business name to be. I kid you not, 3 days later I was jumping out of my sleep and the first thing that rolled off my lips was “Dreams Demand Hustle”. When I started my third business the name I chose was a continuation of the brand I was creating, leading me to name that business “The Hustle Vanity”. Since then I have been out here Hustling, trying to make my Dreams come true.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
In May of 2023, I graduated from Bethune-Cookman University with my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. This made me a First Generation College Graduate in my family. Getting my degree in Business enlightened me about the business world and inspired me to start businesses of my own. In addition, being raised by a single mother motivated me to find ways to provide for myself in college to take some weight off my family. Having this mentality led me to start my first business selling and installing mink lashes in my freshman dorm on campus. This business supported me during my first 2 years of college and it motivated me to start multiple business ventures. In May 2019, I launched an online boutique named “Dreams Demand Hustle” also known as “DDH Boutique”, this business taught me so much about being an entrepreneur and how it is not as easy as everyone thinks.
I went on this journey of educating myself on entrepreneurship, business development, personal and business credit, and more. In September 2021 I planned and executed my first event, it was a pop-up shop that was for local business owners and myself in Daytona Beach, FL to gain local awareness for our brands. It was a success! This event opened me up to a network of business owners who were on the same journey as me and had the motivation to be successful. Being around these individuals encouraged me to share the knowledge I accumulated during my journey, and as time has gone on this is something I’ve become very passionate about. Knowledge is power! Day by Day I understand the true power of it. “Dreams Demand Hustle” has evolved to be more than just an online boutique, I am now committed to working with aspiring or current entrepreneurs to gain resources and knowledge on the things that can help their business grow with one of my main focuses being Credit. In addition, my business has an event aspect consisting of pop-up shops, educational events, seminars, networking events, and more as well as a printing service that offers printing and design for business cards, flyers, banners, and more. I have a lot of things in store for this brand in 2024!
My second business ” The Hustle Vanity, Inc.” is a Hair Extension Company that focuses on hair needs for Female Hustlers. We are your go-to destination for all things hair, offering a wide range of high-quality pre-made and ready-to-wear wigs (Cutting down your time in the shop), styling services, lash strips, aftercare products such as bonnets, melt belts, scarfs, hair storage bags, and more! This collection of products and services will expand within the next year.
My mission for both businesses is to empower business owners, entrepreneurs, and hustlers to chase their dreams through knowledge, experiences, and beauty. I am very proud of my businesses, and looking forward to the growth of both!
Let’s move on to buying businesses – can you talk to us about your experience with business acquisitions?
Yes, I have purchased a business before that is known as a Shelf Corporation or Aged Corporation. I decided to make the purchase after doing research that owning a company that has been in business for several years makes you qualify better for Business Funding. At the time of purchase, the business was already six years old, and after obtaining ownership I built business credit for the business to be ready for future investments. The process was fairly easy, and I purchased the company from a business broker that specializes in Aged/ Shelf Corps. After learning about the process and benefits, I submitted the payment and received ALL legal documents that confirm my ownership of the business.
d the business that was a Montana Entity as a foreign entity in the state of Florida. Everything has been smooth sailing since!
