I recently had my first experience in Corporate America, and it was eye-opening. After years of running my own business and setting my own pace, I thought it might be a good idea to step into a more traditional role to broaden my expertise in marketing. I quickly realized, however, that the corporate environment was quite different from what I was used to.
From the start, I felt like I stepped into a new world—one filled with unique dynamics and a fast-paced rhythm that took some adjusting. While I appreciated the opportunity to learn and grow in a structured setting, I found myself missing the creative freedom I had as an entrepreneur. There was one day in particular that made me really think about where I felt most at home. I came back from a long day in the field, and I was exhausted—not just physically, but also mentally and creatively. I realized I was giving so much to my job that I had little energy left for my own business, which is where my true passion lies.
That moment was a turning point for me. I recognized that I thrive in environments where I can innovate, strategize, and grow without restrictions. I missed the sense of ownership and the direct connection between my efforts and my vision. It was a valuable lesson that showed me that entrepreneurship isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am.
This experience also gave me a greater appreciation for my fellow entrepreneurs who bet on themselves, take risks, and pursue their dreams with everything they have.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Can you tell us the story of how you built your audience on social media? Any advice for those just starting to build their social media presence?
When I first dove into Instagram, my growth strategy was all about collaboration. I knew that partnering with others in my industry would allow me to tap into their audience and showcase my expertise to a broader group of people. So, I made collabs my #1 priority. I committed to doing them weekly for about three months straight. This consistent effort not only helped me reach new followers but also established my credibility in my niche.
Engagement was another key part of my strategy. I actively connected with people in my industry and made sure to get known among my peers. This meant not just following and liking their posts, but genuinely engaging with their content, leaving thoughtful comments, and joining conversations.
I also leveraged the power of sharing. I regularly shared content from other pages on my Instagram Stories and tagged them, encouraging them to repost and boost my visibility. This tactic helped me build relationships and increase my reach by tapping into the established audiences of others.
Advice for those just starting to build their social media presence:

I’m proud to say that I have a 100% job success rate and numerous five-star reviews from satisfied clients.
Upwork has been instrumental in establishing my credibility and expanding my client base. The platform allowed me to showcase my skills and deliver high-quality work consistently, which helped me earn repeat clients and referrals. Even as I’ve shifted my focus to marketing myself on social media, I continue to apply for gigs on Upwork.
