Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Asia Lyneise. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Asia , appreciate you joining us today. We’re complete cheeseballs and so we love asking folks to share the most heartwarming moment from their career – do you have a touching moment you can share with us?
I never get the opportunity to fully enjoy the events that I curate, because I’m always working behind the scenes to make sure that everything is flowing. So what really melted my heart was the fact that after my event, people that attended that I didn’t know or didn’t know that it was my event, spoke really highly about it. They mentioned how they felt safe and how good the food was and just the overall energy of the event was really good. People don’t know that they heal me every time they speak highly about things that I’ve created from my heart and it makes me excited to continue to bring top tier events to Detroit and eventually to recreational states across America.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’ve been an advocate for cannabis since I was 16, I am 34 now. I got into the industry as a care giver in 2014 along with my father and my brother, however I was more interested in the consumption side of cannabis and ended up creating OG Edibles in 2015. OG Edibles specialized in full spectrum, organic vegan treats. We stayed in business until 2021, then decided to part ways hence me starting Elevate in Style.
So what is elevate in style? Elevate in style came from my love of fashion, outside of cannabis I am a celebrity wardrobe stylist who has worked with artist like Big Sean and companies like Lincoln, Nike and Footlocker as well as my background in educational leadership and lastly my love for good vegan food and great weed. So what is Elevate in Style? We’re a premier elevated events planning company that focuses on the five areas of Art, Education, Food, Mental Health and Philanthropy. We also, work with Cannabis brands like Spaceman Cannabis and Ooze-x as well as private clientele to bring curated elevated experiences to their events, which includes curated elevated stations like Dab bars, rolling stations and we also connect guests and clients to services and providers that can also potentially help their brands.
Mental health and wellness is also important to our brand so every event that we put on, we always make sure that there is some sort of wellness activity whether it’s yoga and or meditation as well as a creative activity like creating sustainable smoking accessories by providing these safe, dope spaces for our guests to just be and create. Studies have shown that engaging in creative activities stimulates the brain, increasing neuroplasticity and boosting cognitive function. Which can lead to improved memory, increased problem-solving skills, and greater creativity.
Elevate in style is bigger than me and I believe what sets this brand apart from others that are similar is the fact that one, we stand on not mixing liquor and cannabis so all of our events are alcohol free. However, we do offer elevated mocktails by Siren farms which also gives guests the opportunity to learn about THC and Psilocybin. We also work with local and national plant based chefs to bring top tier menus to our guests, also our foods aren’t infused we like for people to experience good food without the worry of being too high. Every Elevate in Style event that we plan also has an educational component to it, we want cannabis connoisseurs and newbies to feel confident and have a safe space to consume, so we don’t bother our guests and we just let them vibe out. Lastly, I pride myself on connecting with any of my vendors and sponsors, every interaction from myself or my team is intentional. We’re the last of a dying breed in an industry of greed and this is what makes us so special. When you have 3 weeks of marketing and have 90% of your guests be people you don’t know, that just speaks so loudly about the work that we do.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
When I decided that I wanted to move forward with Elevate in Style, I had so many people say that they would help out, they would invest or they would support and when it came down to it I was left standing alone. So yes, in the beginning I wasn’t feeling too confident because in my head I was like there was no way I could do it by myself. So fast forward to my first event, I had a cousin that decided to invest in me and for that I will always be appreciative, but being resilient in this business is a must. One story that came to mind was my last event. 2 days before my 3rd event I had multiple people pull out leaving me with a heavy bill to cover. I wanted to cancel but my team was like no, we got this, so in that moment I had to put my big girl pants on, communicate with all my sponsors and secure myself moving forward so that I would never be in this type of situation again. By the grace of God, I was able to cover everything and have a successful event, but people don’t understand that every night I cried because I couldn’t believe how people were moving, but in that moment I realized that I was one of God’s favorites and if I let go everything would flow and hence it did. One thing I want people to know is that this didn’t happen overnight. I received a lot of no’s and people who I thought really wanted to be apart of this turned their backs on me and said you do it and that motivated me and in that moment God placed the right people in my life and for that I am forever grateful of my team, Eric, Brittany, Dej and Lynly!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Standing on my word and communicating with people. When I started in the industry it was very much an underground thing. So when Michigan became a recreational state, I knew that this would be a pivotal moment. I didn’t just wake up one day and decide I wanted to do consumption events, I studied and did research on the market. I even had the opportunity to participate and work at different consumption events due to my current working relationship as an ambassador for Ooze-X and Spaceman Cannabis. These connections provided me the opportunity to build relationships with dispensary owners, managers, bud tenders, patients and canna influencers. I also invited people out so they could see first hand what I do and how detailed I am when it comes to throwing events. So I feel like it’s one thing to talk about it, but when people come to an event and they genuinely enjoy it, thats what keeps a good healthy reputation going. Every Elevate in Style event is intentional, every connection we make and keep is intentional, we move in love and respect and that’s something that is really hard to come by in this industry.
