We recently connected with Ashton Bingham and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Ashton thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Risk taking is something we’re really interested in and we’d love to hear the story of a risk you’ve taken.
One of the biggest risks we’ve ever taken was traveling to India to film The Robocall, a documentary series that exposed the inner workings of international scam call centers. It was a risk that came with significant safety concerns, but one that we knew could make a real difference in the fight against global fraud.
For years, we’d been investigating refund scams and fake tech support scams targeting innocent people, particularly in the United States. Through our scambaiting work, we uncovered that many of these operations originated in India. These weren’t small-time operations—they were multi-million-dollar networks, exploiting vulnerable victims on a massive scale. The idea to go directly to the source, on the ground in India, was born out of frustration and determination to take the fight further.
Traveling halfway around the world to confront criminals is no small decision. There were countless unknowns: safety concerns, potential legal hurdles, and the sheer unpredictability of exposing people who thrive in the shadows. These scammers are often connected to local networks with power and influence, which made the situation even more precarious. We had to be extremely calculated—mapping out security measures, coordinating with trusted local contacts, and always keeping an exit plan in mind.
The experience was intense, eye-opening, and life-changing. We gained unprecedented access to the people and systems running these scams. From uncovering call center operations to showing the human toll of fraud, the trip allowed us to shine a light on something most people never get to see. While the risks were very real, the reward was even greater. The series resonated deeply with our audience, helping victims feel heard and empowering people to fight back against scams.
Looking back, the trip to India solidified our commitment to exposing fraud, no matter the challenges. It was a risk worth taking—one that pushed us out of our comfort zone, but ultimately strengthened our mission and impact.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Art Kulik and myself, Ashton Bingham, are of the co-founders of Trilogy Media, a production company and media platform dedicated to exposing scammers and creating content that educates, entertains, and empowers people around the world. What began as a passion for content creation has grown into a mission-driven brand that stands up for victims of scams, raises awareness about fraud, and delivers thrilling and meaningful entertainment.
Trilogy Media started as a small production company, where Art and I combined our love for storytelling and humor. However, our path changed when we discovered the dark and often hidden world of online scams. It was clear that these fraudulent operations weren’t just an annoyance—they were destroying lives. That realization gave us a new purpose. We began diving deeper into scambaiting: creatively exposing scammers by turning the tables on them, and entertaining the masses along the way.
Our journey grew to include collaborations with victims, cybersecurity professionals, and law enforcement. We decided to expand Trilogy Media into a full-fledged production company, creating series that balance action, comedy, and powerful storytelling across YouTube and our exclusive streaming platform, Trilogy Plus.
What makes Trilogy Media unique is our hands-on, boots-on-the-ground approach. We don’t just talk about scams—we actively confront scammers, expose their tactics, and help victims fight back. Whether it’s infiltrating call centers, catching predators, or collaborating with experts, we make content that’s bold, authentic, and impactful. From stopping scams in real time to helping people regain control of their finances, our work goes beyond entertainment—it’s about protecting people, holding criminals accountable, and showing that no one has to face these battles alone.

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Our online journey began with one unexpected viral moment: our original IRS scambait video – an accidental viral success that garnered hundreds of millions of views. At the time, we were just two guys with a camera and an idea, testing out ways to create engaging and entertaining content. That video struck a chord with people because it was raw, funny, and relatable—it showed us turning the tables on a scammer in a way that millions of viewers hadn’t seen before.
But one viral video doesn’t build a community. What truly allowed us to grow was staying authentic and consistent. After that initial success, we didn’t try to chase trends or become something we weren’t. We leaned into what we loved doing—exposing scams, being our goofy unapologetic selves, creating real, unscripted moments, and making content that mattered. We made it a point to show our true personalities, flaws and all, and let the audience feel like they were part of the journey with us.
Consistency was key. We committed to showing up for our audience week after week, year after year. Whether it was a viral hit or a smaller video, we put in the same level of effort and creativity. Over time, this consistency built trust and loyalty among our viewers.
Social media is constantly changing, and we embraced that. We expanded from prank-style scambaiting videos to powerful documentaries like The Robocall, predator stings with Trilogy vs Predator, and uncensored streaming content on Trilogy Plus. Each step forward allowed us to deepen our connection with our audience and show new dimensions of our mission.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Art and I come from two completely different parts of the world—me from northern Nevada, and Art from Belarus—but what brought us together was a shared dream: breaking into Hollywood and creating content on our own terms. We both had big ambitions, a passion for storytelling, and a willingness to take risks.
When we first met, it was clear that we had a similar mindset: we weren’t interested in waiting for opportunities to come to us. We wanted to carve our own path, take chances, and build something meaningful from the ground up. Hollywood can be a tough place, but we were both determined to thrive, no matter the challenges.
What started as two guys brainstorming over creative ideas quickly turned into a powerful partnership. We realized that our different perspectives—Art bringing his energy, grit, and unique worldview, and me with my background and love for editing and storytelling—were the perfect combination. Together, we had the drive and chemistry to make something unique and lasting.
