We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ashton Anderson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ashton, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s talk about social media – do you manage your own or do you have someone or a company that handles it for you? Why did you make the choice you did?
I currently manage my social media, the Louisiana State Legislature, and several other accounts for female entrepreneurs.

My name is Ashton Angelle; I am a Content Creator and owner of a digital design / social media company called Ashton Angelle. I earned my master’s degree in Social Media Management. Currently, I manage social media accounts for myself and other female entrepreneurs looking to enhance their brands and social media engagement. I specialize in Social Media Management/Strategy, Graphic Design, and Website Building. Content creation, graphic design, website, and social media management have always been passions of mine. My growing interest in these areas dates back to 2016. Then, I started to teach myself, hone my skills, and ensure that I placed myself in rooms and around others experienced in these fields.
I knew this was something that one day I would want to make my full-time career, so I continued to work towards creating my brand and ensuring each client I encounter has all the tools needed to engage their audience on social media. Social media is one of the most powerful marketing tools. Thus, it is imperative to know your audience, the analytics, the most popular content to provide, and the list. As the Social Media Manager for several entrepreneurs, I focus on these key things. My target is to ensure my clients’ brands are eye-capturing to viewers. I put my all into each client I service. I always aim to ensure I understand their wants and needs while also paying attention to what will grow their brand and engagement on social media. From graphic design, and website building to social media strategy, my business is a one-stop shop, and I seek to continue growing my skills in other aspects. I want my clients to know that when they select Ashton Angelle to service them, they are in the best hands. Each client is unique, and I treat them as such when creating their graphics and strategizing their social media content. Providing stellar customer service is also paramount to me and ensuring each client always knows they are my top priority.
How did you build your audience on social media?
I built my audience on social media by being genuinely me. Authenticity is paramount when being an influencer and engaging your audience. There is only one of you; this will always aid in standing out. You can focus on something other than the trend currently working for social media because it will change again eventually. Where will that leave you? If you build your content on you, what you have to offer, and the genuineness of your story and who you are, you will always be influential and a blessing to your audience. These methods will drive your engagement and your following. Always remember that you can avoid repeating what may work for someone else. You are one-of-one.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been referrals and social media. Nothing beats positive word-of-mouth reviews and effective social media advertisements. When building my brand and as I continue to grow, I always keep in the forefront what my main goal is. It is not to chase fame but to be committed to my craft and to ensure I always put my best foot forward when creating for myself and my clients. I cannot emphasize enough how vital it is that you do not compare yourself to others, produce what you feel they want you to, or to chase clout. If you do these things, you will burn out fast. Instead, you must know your primary goal, read, learn, surround yourself with leaders and thought provokers, and focus on growing your craft. As long as you put out your best work, provide exceptional customer service and stay true to yourself and your brand, your clientele will only continue to flourish.
