We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ashlyn Fabré a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashlyn , thanks for joining us today. Risking taking is a huge part of most people’s story but too often society overlooks those risks and only focuses on where you are today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – it could be a big risk or a small one – but walk us through the backstory.
After earning my esthetician license, I decided shortly after to take the leap and start my own business, Ashlyn’s Aesthetics. I opened my treatment room inside By Jessica & Co. Beauty Lounge. Even though I’m still building my clientele, I’ve had amazing support and guidance from my team at By Jessica & Co., family, and friends, which has helped me grow while gaining real experience.
Starting before I had a full client base was definitely a risk, but it’s taught me so much—how to market myself, manage my business, and stay confident through slow moments. Taking this risk showed me that growth comes from pushing yourself before you feel completely ready.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Ashlyn, and I’m a licensed esthetician and the owner of Ashlyn’s Aesthetics. I have a lifelong passion for all things beauty and aesthetics, and I’ve always loved helping people feel good in their own skin—which inspired me to turn that passion into my career.
I offer a variety of facial treatments, body treatments, and body sculpting services that I customize for each client’s unique goals and concerns. Every service I provide focuses on improving confidence and helping clients feel their best inside and out.
What drives me most is seeing the confidence that comes when someone starts to truly love the way they look and feel. My goal is to create a welcoming, relaxing space where every client leaves refreshed, confident, and proud of themselves.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has been a mix of: word of mouth, social media, and the amazing support I’ve had from my salon team, friends, and family. Their support has helped spread the word, share my business cards, and encourage new clients to book with me. I’m so thankful for the network I have behind me and the people who continue to cheer me on as I grow my business. Also, social media has helped me reach new people and showcase my work, but honestly, the personal connections and support from the people around me have made the biggest difference in growing my business.

Can you open up about how you funded your business?
When I decided to start Ashlyn’s Aesthetics, I was fortunate to have the support of my family, who believed in my vision and helped me fund the initial costs. Their help allowed me to invest in my treatment room, equipment, and supplies to get started.
Their encouragement motivates me every day to keep growing, stay consistent, and make them proud. Their belief in me made it possible to take that first step, and it continues to inspire me to keep working toward my goals.
