Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashlie Jenkins. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ashlie, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?
The way I came up with my business name Meplustwoo was at the time I only had two kids and it was just Meplustwoo. Now with me having three children the business is still Meplustwoo but more for my son and his two sisters. Once I went and received my esthetics license I was thinking about what could be a good name for an esthetics business… I started thinking what is something unique and since I wanted to focus more on the full body not just skin I came up with Bodyaholics.

Ashlie, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Getting into the industry was easy as I have been into skincare and always had pretty decent skin with a daily skin regime. I created a product and brand of skincare products for all skin types to help moisturize, since most people need moisturizing products and also products that repair the skin. I feel my products set me apart because I use them myself, have beautiful skin and I am also licensed to care for the skin. I am passionate about my career and making a difference in the esthetic industry. I am most proud of not giving up on myself and my brand even with the rocky roads, many set backs and different ways life throws curve balls. I truly believe my businesses will make a positive difference in this industry.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Starting and running a business is very hard let me just start there! You have to literally do and figure out how to do things yourself unless you have the knowledge and help from someone who has done it before. At this point in my business I have had to pivot because of the economy and different life reasons. There has been money struggles as some may know running a business for the first time and having to pay for everything out of pocket, still having to manage a household and not have the funding you need.
It has not been an easy task as I have to create a vibe and comfortable environment for my clients and also creating it to continue being a safe space and for me to allow people into my second place of peace. I am in the process of searching for a suite in the Pflugerville/Roundrock area to begin taking clients in the upcoming months. I am also in the process of rebranding my cosmetics line and adding more products to relaunch in 2026.

Okay – so how did you figure out the manufacturing part? Did you have prior experience?
For majority of my cosmetics I make them myself, the only thing I have a vendor for is my body butters. I take the time and hand make my body oils, body scrubs, lip balms, rose water and soaps. I searched for more than a year to find the right vendor, I received plenty of samples from different vendors to try their different products to make sure I have the right products to sell to my clients. A lesson I learned was to make sure that you have a vision or at least an idea of what you are looking for before looking for a vendor. There will be plenty of vendors that will try to sway you away from your vision so you have to make sure you know what you want.
