We recently connected with Ashley Turner and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
A few years ago, I was trying to figure out what was next for me. In doing so, I had to settle my thoughts and come to realize the simple things in my life that I always enjoyed – reading and journaling. I decided to join my two passions and become an author by publishing my first book last summer – “Redirected – The Road to Self-Discovery”

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I am most proud of becoming a published author with the debut of Redirected – The Road to Self-Discovery, a project born from my passion for storytelling and personal growth. Balancing my professional career as an Analytical Tester at Valero Refinery while raising four daughters with my husband, has been one of my greatest accomplishments – reflecting resilience, dedication, and the power of prioritizing what matters most. I want people to know that self-discovery and personal transformation are journeys worth embracing, and it’s okay to take breaks and practice self-care, especially in a world that pressures us to do it all. My love for storytelling and my fascination with the written word drive my desire to inspire others, showing that with purpose, balance, and perseverance, dreams are always within reach.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
One of my goals as an author is to show my authenticity as a human. Being fully transparent was something that I knew I needed in order to capture the hearts of the readers. Too often, people feel the need to always show themselves as perfect, flawless, and having it together which is unrealistic. I believe that ingenuity, when not balanced with purpose and reflection, can lead to a road of personal destruction. By revealing my own setbacks and the journey of how I overcame them, I hope to create a deeper connection with readers. Sharing these experiences allows others to see that failure is a stepping stone to growth. My goal is to inspire them to find the courage to face their fears, embrace transformation, and boldly pursue their dreams, knowing that resilience and authenticity are the true foundations of success.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
Yes. A few that I recommend are Battlefield of The Mind and Change your words, Change your life – both by Joyce Meyer.
