We recently connected with Ashley Tindall and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
Full time entrepreneurship has been so incredibly rewarding – I spent over 10 years working or a billion-dollar healthcare IT company. While I was able to grow in various roles, there were very few times when I was able to see the impact I was making directly. I often times felt like a number or simply a “worker bee” just doing what I needed to do for the day and clock out.
Now, supporting small business owners, I’m able to see how the work that I do directly impacts their businesses, their clients, their revenue and overall well-being! Being an entrepreneur has helped me to better utilize the skills I’ve built over the last several years and apply them to those who need it most.
I wouldn’t trade it for anything!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I help female entrepreneurs scale beyond six figures, through the power of project management support process improvements and automation. I am well-versed in a variety of small business tools including, Dubsado, ClickUp, Airtable, Notion, Zapier and more!
I help my clients simplify the way they run their businesses by finding ways to improve their backend processes, how they manage or hire a new team, and how they deliver their own services to their clients.
I strive to not just save biz owners time, but help them to bring their dream client experience and processes to life! I do the heavy lifting of tech research and implementation so that my clients can focus on what they do best – serving their clients!
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been delivering a quality and consistent client experience.
From the moment someone inquires to work with me all the way through to the end of our time together, I work to make sure they feel supported, encouraged, seen and heard! By having a quality client experience, my clients share their experiences with their peers, their clients, and friends which has allowed me to grow my client base thanks to referrals!
Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.
I was able to start a side hustle while working a full-time role as a project manager. After 2 years of doing juggling both careers I set a quit date!
I worked to save up a reserve to cover certain personal and household expenses. I knew it would be tough and definitely scary, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve made in my career – I honestly wish I would’ve done it sooner!
I was able to take the time I spent working at my full-time job and devote it to getting more active on social media, refining my offers, pitching myself for speaking engagements and podcasts, learn new skills and acquiring new tool certifications.
All of these activities have helped me to continue to grow my small business to support me and my family!
