We were lucky to catch up with Ashley Thompson recently and have shared our conversation below.

Ashley, appreciate you joining us today. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?

Well I guess I’ll start off by saying I ABSOLUTELY love being a creative . A model . A statement …. I love what I do , truly, however I’m not solely living off of it ,… right now ! Not to say it won’t happen one day . Im a creative that hasn’t fully walk in my purpose, but im pushing and im trying to figure it out . Working a 9-5 is not the life for me , “I do not dream of labor “ lol but it gets the bills paid . Iguess to some it up , I’m Ashley in the day , and bombshvll in the night . So this question is backwards for me , but I love it . I feel like I’m speaking to the creatives , the models , the photographers and everyone pushing for there dreams , to keep going . Not quite where I want to be , but I’m proud of where I am so far , and where it’s going .

Ashley, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Yes , so lol I actually never thought of me modeling . I knew I love fashion , and all through high school I would try different looks , but I never thought of modeling . There was this local photographer that would ask to shoot me . I would think about it , but I just didn’t see it for myself , so I said no time after time ….. until one day I agreed to it ! The photoshoot went so good , and I just loved the feeling of being in front of the camera . After my first shoot , it was like a domino effect . The rest was history . I’m most proud of my confidence! From the time I started , til now is totally different. I’m proud that I found myself and my passion. I worked on me , I stood up for me , I embraced me . I’m doing it for the curvy girls , the big girls , women in general. I love to see you loving yourself . I want to inspire more women to do that

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

Yes ! My goal is to inspire women like me . The ones that don’t really fit in , so we stand out confidently. Through my journey of modeling , I’ve learned a lot about myself , I’ve grown and become my best self , and lastly to love myself . My mission is to take fashion and photography by its horns and run with it ! If you like it wear it ! Flaunt your stuff ! Chin up . Before I found my passion I was in a low space . No confidence , no drive , just lost . So if I could inspire and uplift us queens , that keeps me going .

How did you build your audience on social media?

Well honestly, I’m not the best on social media , but I’m learning . My biggest advice is to keep the faith , and stay consistent. I’ve had many opportunities due to me just being me and posting it . They see my style , they see me pushing out content,…. Just keep pushing .
