We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ashley Tate. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ashley below.
Ashley, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, let’s start with trends – what are some of the largest or more impactful trends you are seeing in the industry?
Trends are constantly changing in the music industry. Many new artists are looking to find their place in the industry. Social media plays a huge part in breaking songs for artists and helping them grow their brand. Social media apps such as Instagram, TikTok, & Facebook give artists a chance to reach millions around the world. TikTok has become a very popular place for artists to be heard. Their manager, publicist, and marketing team must keep up with the trends and how they change to build and up keep a successful and effective campaign.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I have always had a passion and ear for music since I was a child. I was very interested in how everything worked in the music industry. As I grew older, I found my strengths, I had a vision and a plan. I decided that becoming a publicist would be my place in the music industry. I had acquired numerous contacts over the years and I was great at helping others. When I work with an artist I help them build and create their story and brand in order to increase their fan base. I help artists get exposure through interviews, articles, pitching stories to journalists, and help artist find their way to inclusion in trend features. I am always ready to work with new artists no matter where there are currently in their career. I take pride in participating in helping my clients grow and reach new levels of success.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I started my social media to connect with friends at first, however once I decided that I was starting a business I turned my social media into a tool. I built my audience by posting interesting content and networking with others. My advice to anyone looking to build a social media presence is be yourself. I see so many people on social media masking their personality trying to be like others. Be yourself and be original!

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Brand loyalty is very important. You definitely want clients that are impressed with your work. I keep in touch with my clients by checking in with them on a regular basis and keeping them informed about the progress of their campaign and any new opportunities that arise.
