Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashley Rigaud . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Ashley thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
I remember so clearly! I was around 17/18 and heavily into the fashion world. I loved everything about it but mostly enjoyed visual styling, I began to do my research and found a celebrity stylist by the name Of Joe Exclusive. He was based out of Los Angeles and had a lot of A- list clients. I quickly emailed him and inquired about becoming an intern, I didn’t hear back for like two weeks and I literally said “I’m crazy for thinking he’d reply.” Little did I know two weeks later I’d receive a response and invited to my first project. The set was for now two love and hip hop cast members. After that project I began booking more and soon building my own client list which led to the creation of The Vanguard House now Ash & Ley Co.
I had to do so much research on starting a styling agency. I reached out to local talents to collaborate on projects and connected anyway I could.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into the fashion industry by taking initiative. My resilience and kind nature has honestly helped me to grow and maintain great relationships. I’m super proud of creating shows for New York fashion week and the amazing talents I have collaborated with. The visions I have sets me apart from other creatives, I have a 1000 ideas running through my head constantly. I’m also able to adapt to anything, I think a lot of times people in the industry can’t adapt if something goes wrong.
Ash and Ley co is a rebrand of The Vanguard House. I feel like this rebrand better represents the epitome of style and essence. I am more intimate in styling clients and providing a first class experience.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I’m currently pivoting in rebranding my business and pivoting in my career. I currently received an incredible opportunity to build my career with a classic high-end clothing brand whilst I build back my focus in visual styling.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Being authentic! It’s the most simplest answer, I am super transparent and myself. I don’t care to be like the next person or blend in.
