We recently connected with Ashley Reese and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Looking back at internships and apprenticeships can be interesting, because there is so much variety in people’s experiences – and often those experiences inform our own leadership style. Do you have an interesting story from that stage of your career that you can share with us?
When I was just starting out as an intern in aesthetics, there was one moment that’s stuck with me ever since. I was shadowing an experienced injector during a lip filler session, and the client was really nervous—almost shaking. As we went through the process, I could see how the injector took the time to reassure her, explaining every step with such calm and confidence. By the end, the client was thrilled with the results and even teared up, telling us how beautiful and confident she felt.
That moment made me realize how much of an impact we can have, not just through the technical side of injecting but by genuinely caring for people and making them feel heard. It wasn’t just about creating a beautiful outcome—it was about empowering someone. That’s where my passion for aesthetics was really ignited. I knew then that I wanted to bring that same level of care and attention to my own practice. It’s also why I’m so dedicated to mentoring others, because I believe in not only passing on the technical skills but also instilling that compassion and empathy that makes all the difference in this field.

Ashley, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m incredibly passionate about the world of aesthetics, especially as a nurse injector. My journey into this field started with a deep love for patient care and a fascination with the artistry behind non-invasive cosmetic treatments. The idea that we can enhance someone’s natural beauty, boost their confidence, and make them feel their best without altering who they are—that’s what drew me in.
What I offer my clients is a personalized experience where the focus is on natural results. Whether it’s injectables like Botox or dermal fillers, every treatment is tailored to bring out the best version of someone, not change them. I truly believe in the importance of subtlety and balance in aesthetics, so my goal is always to enhance, never to overdo. I also provide education and consultation services, ensuring that my clients understand every step of the process and feel empowered in their decisions.
What sets me apart is my commitment to creating not just beautiful results but meaningful connections. I prioritize patient care and education, taking time to understand each person’s goals, and providing guidance that goes beyond the treatment itself. I also love mentoring and educating other professionals in this industry. Being able to share my knowledge and watch others grow in this field is something I’m incredibly proud of.
The thing I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that people come to me not just for the treatments but because they know I care about them and their long-term results. For anyone who follows my work, I want them to know that I’m all about authenticity, education, and natural beauty—helping others feel amazing without ever losing sight of who they are.

Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Aside from training and knowledge, I think the most helpful thing for succeeding in this field is empathy and genuine connection with your clients. Aesthetics is such a personal experience for people—it’s not just about enhancing physical features, but about helping someone feel confident in their own skin. Being able to really listen to their concerns, understand their goals, and make them feel comfortable and cared for is absolutely key.
I’ve found that building trust and rapport with clients makes all the difference. When someone knows you truly care about their well-being, they’re more likely to open up and trust your guidance. It’s also important to stay humble and curious, because even with experience, there’s always something new to learn, whether it’s about new techniques or simply understanding someone’s unique vision for themselves.
In short, empathy, connection, and a passion for ongoing learning are what really set apart those who excel in aesthetics from those who just do the job. It’s about caring for people as whole individuals, not just focusing on the treatment in front of you.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
Absolutely! I wouldn’t change a thing. Being a nurse injector allows me to blend my love for patient care with my passion for aesthetics, and every day I get to help people feel their best while staying true to their natural beauty. I also love that I get to mentor and educate others in this field, sharing my passion and helping others succeed. This career is everything I could have hoped for, and I can’t imagine doing anything else!
