We were lucky to catch up with Ashley Pardee recently and have shared our conversation below.
Ashley, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to hear how you think where to draw the line in terms of asking friends and family to support your business – what’s okay and what’s over the line?
I think it’s perfectly appropriate to let them know about your business and invite them to support you if they wish. I’m always grateful for any support they can offer, whether it’s through word-of-mouth referrals, social media shares, or even becoming clients themselves. I believe that friends and family can be fantastic supporters of your business, as long as the support is mutual and respects the boundaries of your personal relationships.
Ashley, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Hello, I’m Ashley Pardee, a dedicated family photographer with a true-to-life, authentic style that captures timeless and classic portraits for families. My journey into photography began with a passion for capturing moments that tell a story, moments that families can look back on and cherish for a lifetime. Over the years, I have honed my craft, blending my background in sales and customer relations with my love for photography to create a unique experience for my clients.
I specialize in family and maternity photography, offering services that include individual portraits, family portraits, and special events like holidays and milestones. My goal is to capture the essence of my clients and their loved ones in a way that is natural, genuine, and beautiful. I focus on creating images that are not just pictures but memories frozen in time.
One of the main challenges I help my clients overcome is capturing those authentic moments in a way that feels effortless and natural. I know many families can feel a bit awkward in front of the camera, so my approach is all about making the experience fun and stress-free. I provide guidance from start to finish and create a relaxed environment where everyone can just be themselves, resulting in photos that truly reflect your personalities and relationships.
What I’m most proud of are the wonderful relationships I’ve built with my clients over the years. Many of them come back for multiple sessions, giving me the joy of capturing their family’s growth and changes over time. These ongoing relationships are a true testament to the trust and satisfaction my clients feel, and they are the absolute highlight of what I do.
When you choose to work with me, you’re not just hiring a photographer – you’re gaining a friend who’s truly dedicated to capturing your family’s unique story. I’m passionate about creating images that you and your loved ones will treasure for generations. From the first click to the final edit, I’m committed to providing a fun, relaxed, and exceptional experience. Let’s create beautiful memories together!
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
I strive to provide my clients with beautiful, authentic images that reflect their true selves and the love they share. Ultimately, I aim to create a legacy of cherished memories that families can look back on with joy and pride.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being an artist is seeing the joy and emotion on my clients’ faces when they see their photos for the first time. Capturing genuine moments and turning them into lasting memories is incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that I’ve created something that families will treasure and look back on with fondness is truly heartwarming. It’s also deeply rewarding to witness the growth and changes in the families I photograph over the years, becoming a small part of their journey. That connection and impact make being a creative so special.
