Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. What were some of the most unexpected problems you’ve faced in your career and how did you resolve those issues?
One fun fact that many people do not know about me is that I taught myself how to build my own website- from start to finish! The learning curve was huge, but I can proudly say that any changes and updates made on my website are made by me. As a lifelong learner, I turned a problem into an opportunity to learn a brand new skill.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Ashley Newman, Founder and Owner of Ashley Newman Education, LLC. My mission is to invigorate academic motivation, confidence, accountability, and success for homeschool families in Grades 2-8.
I earned my B.S. in Early Childhood Education from the University of Georgia. I taught 5th grade in both Title I and affluent schools, and I am an award-winning retired educator based on my student growth performance. I established Ashley Newman Education, LLC to provide the missing opportunity for deep-level academic growth within our homeschool community.
I shifted from my classroom era and began homeschooling our daughter at age 3. As I saw how many families were seeking homeschool options beyond traditional textbooks and generalized online learning, I began to provide 1:1 hyper-customized coaching and curriculums for homeschool families in Grades 2-8. Every student is one-of-a-kind and deserves a customized learning experience that evolves with their unique progress!

Have you ever had to pivot?
When I first established Ashley Newman Education, LLC five school years ago, I was pivoting from my space in the public school setting as an award-winning 5th grade classroom educator. It was a monumental shift to step away from the comfort of what I knew to build a small business to support my family-from the ground up. But I knew my purpose had evolved and I needed to meet the moment.
My goal was to create 1:1 innovative programs to support homeschool families who were not finding success within tutoring, learning centers, textbooks, or online classes. There was a missing option for our community’s families in Grades 2-8, and I was determined to create it. Now, I customize every step of my students’ journeys in a 1:1 setting to provide lifelong academic transformations!
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Building a solo small business from the ground up is not for the faint of heart! It requires late nights, early mornings, and consistently learning new skills.
In fact, building a business from nothing takes a level of patience and grit that I have found far surpasses my dynamic journey in the classroom. But all of the hard work is worth it when I get to see the joy on my students’ faces when they reach new heights in their learning journey.
I am forever grateful to my husband, Christopher, for supporting my dreams since the very beginning of this journey. He has believed in my unique vision, every step of the way. He went above and beyond for Ashley Newman Education, LLC to become the innovative homeschool coaching business it is today.
