We recently connected with Ashley Morgan and have shared our conversation below.

Ashley, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

Growing up I was always known for my unique and daring outfits. The main complement I would get is “Girl you be so fly!”. At the time I really didn’t think too much of the word “fly” as it relates to creating a name for my business, I just thought that was the word that people used to describe me. Once I went to college I realized I could actually style people as a side hustle. I thought long and hard about a brand name and wanted the name to really represent me and stand out from other brands. One day I thought “what about FlyLikeAsh?”, which combines my name with the word that most represents my style but also represents my vision for all of my clients.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

I am Ashley Morgan, a 25 year old wardrobe stylist and fashion designer from Atlanta, GA. I have always had a passion for fashion, as it is deeply rooted in my blood. Style has always been apart of my life as I remember as a little girl  being excited to go to school and show off my outfits. I remember as a child watching “Kimora: Life In The Fab Lane” and thinking I want to be just like her! My love for fashion grew as I took sewing classes and saw the results from my new designs. It would make me so proud and I would always dream about seeing my designs in New York Fashion Week. I’ve always had the eye for putting together very creative looks. People would ask me all the time to style them for different events and at first it was a side hustle until I realized I could really turn this into a career. In 2020, I created FlyLikeAsh. I would sell clothes out of my closet and also style people. Fast forward to 2023, I turned FlyLikeAsh into a fashion brand that offers unique clothing and personal styling.

FlyLikeAsh is a fashion brand that boosts confidence through clothing. Our mission is to help others come out of their comfort zone and wear daring outfits, as I would. A FLY girl is a woman that is true to herself, creative, confident and lights up any room with her outfit. FlyLikeAsh the brand offers statement pieces that will spice up any outfit as well as make you the best dressed in the room! My specialty is putting together looks that cater to your personal style but also gets you out of your comfort zone, the FLY way! This is more than just a brand, being a FLY girl is a lifestyle.

Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?

I have so many goals for my brand but the main goal for FlyLikeAsh is to become a global brand and be recognized as a fashion powerhouse for setting trends in the fashion industry. I want to continue to offer styling services and clothing for women, but also develop the brand to be all inclusive by providing those same services for men and children. I also want to give back to the community by creating my own fashion school that will teach you the ins and outs of the business. I see FlyLikeAsh winning awards, on the runway, on tv, on celebrities, and so much more. I can’t wait for people to see my brand grow!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?

The most rewarding aspect of my job is building relationships and seeing the glow in my clients once they wear my clothes/looks I created for them. It’s like they exude a different energy, which creates this new sense of confidence. It makes me happy because having style really makes you feel like a FLY GIRL and I want every woman to feel FlyLikeAsh!
