Alright, Ashley Monique thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Can you talk to us about a risk you’ve taken – walk us through the story?
Almost 3 years ago, Ashley Monique took the risk of leaving a great state job to start her own business. Working for this job, provided Ashley Monique with great job security, benefits and wonderful healthcare. Leaving the department was a faith move for her. She didn’t have the knowledge needed to start or successfully run a business. After much prayer and preparation, Ashley Monique resigned.
Being a successful business owner means constantly creating money making opportunities for yourself. Unfortunately, for the first 8 months she struggled with that. Ashley Monique ran through all of her savings to pay bills. She literally had enough money to only pay 1 more month of bills, and God allowed a magnificent shift to arise in her business. Every since then, her business has been flowing smoothly. Leaving the state job to start her business, was the best decision Ashley Monique has ever made. It forced her to push beyond limits and develop her brand.
The greatest successes in this business is to see other businesses thrive and to be an encouraging light to others. Several services offered focuses on helping promote businesses, helping individuals become authors, help with the establishment of nonprofit organizations and providing encouragement through books.

Ashley Monique is an entrepreneur, author, professor, mentor, and radio host. She was afforded the opportunity to receive a scholarship to attend the University of Alabama for her graduate studies, where she received a degree in Social Work. Her Bachelor’s Degree in Arts and Sciences was received from Alabama State University where her focus was Social Work. Currently, she is receiving her PhD in Human and Social Services.
Ashley Monique is the Founder and CEO of Ashley Monique, LLC. The purpose of this business is to help elevate and assist new nonprofit organizations, small businesses, and future authors. Also, encouragement and motivation is provided to individuals needing to renew their minds through devotional materials and inspirational products.

Her business mission is geared towards “promoting holistic growth.” Ashley Monique started a clothing line called “Beautifully Favored.” This line specializes in women’s clothing and accessories. In addition, she has written 3 books within the Reconnecting My Brokenness Series. Ashley Monique is in the process of writing the 4 edition to her book series.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
Expanding your business through multiple revenue streams is key. Saving money to invest in your business is important. However, dont use your personal money if you don’t have to. Finding investors to invest in your business is a great way to fund your business. Also, there are many grants available for small business owners. Taking advantage of all funding opportunities relevant to starting your business is vital!
Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
As an entrepreneur, you have to be educated on your craft, be able to ask for help and network as much as possible. Learning new things to elevate your business is important. If you are a person that likes to do things on your own without guidance, that is almost like setting yourself up for failure. Get out of that mindset and don’t be afraid to ask for help!
