We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Ashley Monique. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Ashley below.
Alright, Ashley thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
Social media management, marketing, and advertising is extremely important for businesses. Presently, the world thrives and heavily depends on social media to gain knowledge, meet new people, connect with
friends, receive business information and more. As a business owner, I have made the decision to manage my social media pages. I have interns that assist in developing quality content to post. However, I approve all content that is distributed on all business platforms, before being posted.
This decision has worked very well with growing my business. However, I will eventually turn this responsibility over to my assistant. Developing content, posting multiple times a day and engaging with followers is very time consuming. I definitely recommend other business owners to hire a social media manager; but please be aware of the information being posted before it goes out. Your business brand is important and must be monitored at all times.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Any advice for managing a team?
Managing an effective team is important and can be difficult at times. It is the duty of the leader to learn the strengths and weaknesses of every employee. This is an essential part of business growth. As a leader, properly managing the team by allowing them to work in the areas where their skills sets and talents can thrive is key.
Maintaining morale is connected to the rapport that a leader builds with their staff. Cultivating them both personally and professionally, helps them to know the leader cares. Paying attention to their emotional needs and encouraging self-care is important. Lastly, letting employees know that their opinions matter is vital. Allow them to contribute quality ideas to direct business endeavors. This will show them that their ideas matter. In addition, this will help to boost morale.
Are there any books, videos, essays or other resources that have significantly impacted your management and entrepreneurial thinking and philosophy?
As a business owner, I need to be encouraged daily. Addressing daily issues that arise in a business can be difficult. Handling those things without constant self-care, motivation, and encouragement can be hard. I heavily rely on the Bible for encouragement. Also, I read devotional books by Sarah Young called “Jesus Calling”. These books have allowed me to stay encouraged and motivated throughout my years of being a business owner.
