We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Abrieel a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Abrieel, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
I truly believe that my faith & core life values will be the biggest legacy I will leave behind. The way that I treat others & love the people around me is something I am very proud of. Anyone who knows me has definitely learned something from me & I always inspire others to be their best self. I hope to be remembered for being full of love, strength & intelligence. Since I was a little girl I have always made it a mission to make a positive impact on the people around me simply because of the creatives I watched that inspired me to always keep going.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Abrieel & I am a vocalist , songwriter & model based in Los Angeles. I am originally known for making uptempo & soulful R&B music but in the beginning of 2023 I decided to fully give my life to Christ & start making more inspirational & faith based music for my audience. I am also the CEO of my boutique titled TONES which is a wholesome & minimalistic brand that empowers women to celebrate their individuality & to be confident through self expression. I began singing at the age of 8 years old & was very creative. One thing I am most proud of about myself is how I was able to overcome living with schizophrenia & to continue doing the things that I love the most in life which is creating art & products with an important message or purpose. I am so grateful that I am a walking testimony & that I am able to keep making music, growing my business, brand & networking with others who understand me as a creative individual. I think it is very important for everyone to spread love, positivity and encourage others to be creative because it can save lives. Being able to put your story & experiences back into a form of art can help the people around you. I allow my life battles to be a lesson for those who support me & continue to inspire everyone with positive ways to practice better mental health.

How did you build your audience on social media?
Throughout the years I have always built a strong following online organically by just simply being myself or speaking my truth. I strongly believe that when you connect with your audience and interact with them on a daily it can also show them that you care & appreciate their support. I notice that every-time I make things more personal or take the time to engage more it keeps my audience more interested in what I have going on. My advice for others trying to build a stronger social media presence is to figure out your mission, niche and create content based around that. Researching popular design tools & apps that help you engage better. I love using Canva, CapCut, My Feed & Pinterest. I am also a self taught graphic designer & a lot of knowledge on marketing, aesthetic & brand identity has came from attending Full Sail University but also trying different tools and seeing what does and does not work on my platform.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
When I moved to Los Angeles, CA from Las Vegas, NV I experienced homelessness & took the biggest pivot of my career. I was completely starting over in a new city with my partner with the lack of resources and support. It allowed me to reflect & figure out what I wanted to do as an Artist & Business owner. I had a conversation with God & he showed me that when he delivered me from my sickness in 2017, he had already showed me what he wanted me to do. I truly believe that I was saved to show others how powerful God is & how he can use us to move the world. From that day forward, I then made the decision to only make inspirational music & began to really strategize my business model for TONES & dive in fully motivated. I also started to not put my modeling dream on hold & started to connect with other creatives and photographers who would then help me build my modeling portfolio & brand even more so that my new image is a reflection of my new life. I realize everyday that I may not have all the answers right now for my new journey but I am taking it one day at a time & allowing God to guide me regardless of any challenges that may come along the way.
