Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashley Kroeger. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ashley, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s jump to the end – what do you want to be remembered for?
Legacy. Legacy is defined as a gift by will, especially of money or other personal property. The irony in this is that legacy is not a simple all-encompassing definition and the true meaning of legacy differs for each and every individual. For me. the mention of legacy stems from something deeper, something more intrinsic, and truly something that’s unmoveable or unshakeable. My definition of legacy is defined as an instance, a moment, a location or a storyline that is all-encompassing by the life that each and every one of us lives. Whether your legacy is a foundation, a physical location, an inheritance of assets, an introduction of the legislature, or a narrative.. they all embody one thing. This knowledge, items, places, and moments all embody to the full impact of the life we have and the impact on the people and communities we serve. Our legacy isn’t merely one-dimensional with just our singular selves, but it radiates to each and every person that has some connection to us. Whether it’s our friends, or colleagues who interact with us daily, the ones who absorb immense amounts of knowledge, perspective, and wisdom from our connections. Whether its our families who get to experience our growth and our development, and truly witness the harvest of the investment they sacrificed and instilled in us to become who we are today. My legacy is a hope that it withstands the test of time, that it an ability to continually empower those who have access to me on a grander scale. My goal is that people will not remember what I did, but the more lasting impact is how I made them feel, how I added value to their life, and how my name and presence will be remembered long after I am no longer here.
I want to be able to pass down residential and commercial developments to my family and future family and generations to come. To be able to build a portfolio of assets that provides the leverage of ownership, with the flexibility that allows you to truly live your life to the fullest and chase your passions. As a society, money is a necessity and it drives every day-to-day operation, however, a lot of the more prominent issues I believe in each individuals day to day lives would be solved when you can operate from a space of “getting- to ” vs ” having-to” . What I mean by that is as a society we are often consumed so much in the day-to-day operations of working because we need to provide and ensure all our basic needs are met, that we tend to neglect other areas of our lives. In some instances that consistent cycle of running the rat races, prohibits us from truly experiencing life to the fullest, stuck in potential positions that don’t serve us or fulfill us, and in addition, it takes away at times from building genuine, fulfilling and productive relationships with our family, friends, and co-workers. I can only imagine how much progress and innovation would be possible when the stress of potential unexpected surprises and day-to-day life operations is no longer a factor because we have a secure foundation in an asset that provides: housing for our communities, and passive income to support our daily living expenses.
From that aspect, the physical assets and leveraging of real estate would allow me to further expand my reach and ability to impact the younger generation by creating a foundation that provides scholarships to students in high school entering college, and college entering graduate school within the Stem Fields. As a fellow STEM student, I understand the level of intellect and drive it takes to be successful in these fields where you may not see a large population of minority students especially in the upper-level graduate paths and in the everyday workplace. I would love to be able to create a foundation centered around empowering, educating, and preparing for students entering the STEM field to help lessen the burden of school and student debt, which would give them more ability to truly focus on their grades, their community involvement, and provide opportunities and the network to start increasing their impact before they become official: Doctors, Engineers, Nurses, PA’s, PT’s, Dentists, Optometrists, Software Developers, Mathematicians, Architects, and Accountants.
My mentality, success, and foundation of who I am were cultivated and defined by the success and sacrifices of my amazing parents, extended family, mentors, friends, coaches, and community. It is only fair that as an upcoming generation I am able to do the same and pay it forward through my success, networking, and utilizing my passions and current foundation to set the next foundation for the generation and generations to come after me. My legacy is to leave this world better than it was prior to me arrival, and its the same with my: clients, friends, peers, strangers, and everyone to come. When my clock has run to it’s fullest, and those gather to reflect on my life, I knew I left the legacy I intended if you can say your life was impacted in some positive way by our interaction and connection.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My break into the real estate industry stemmed from my parent’s passions and pursuits in innovation, ownership, and investments. Kroeger Properties is a family-owned and operated brokerage. From my parents’ insights in the industry, and experience with owning personal investment properties, I learned the in’s and outs of the business, being self-employed, and the opportunities available in this industry. After working a few years with a large named broker, they made the decision to create their own company, and continue to build networks and communities with a greater home appeal, at that moment the brokerage Kroeger Properties was founded.
With a refreshed perspective on the industry, a desire to create a positive impact within the community, and the discipline to be self-employed, I followed the path and received my Realtor License at the age of 19. As a younger industry professional, I appreciate and value the opportunity available to make ownership a reality for our younger generations. The ability to create a lasting impact and footprint within my community, and to also serve as an educator and inspiration for those to begin their own journeys in acquiring real estate. We are a full-service brokerage and service both the Commerical and Residential sectors, with a focus on building community throughout Atlanta and the Surround Metro Area… one step at a time… one home at a time. As a realtor, I specialize in working with first-time home buyers, residential home sales, land development, new construction, residential renovation, commercial lease & development, in addition to assisting clients in increasing investment portfolios.
My business motto is “Help Build Community… One Home at a Time.. One Step at a Time.” Through this, my goals are to service clients as an: educational resource, coordinator, and consultant in real estate ownership, investment strategy, and more. I strive to be a prime resource and one-stop shop to help assist in all my previous, current, and future clients’ needs as homeowners. The largest problems I am able to solve in our industry are the educational gap in our communities about the: opportunities, leverage capabilities, and programs available to help our current community in creating more ownership. My business motto is “Help Build Community… One Home at a Time.” Through this, my goals are to service clients as an educational resource, coordinator, and consultant in real estate investing. I strive to be a prime resource and one-stop shop to help assist in all my previous, current, and future clients’ needs as homeowners.
I am most proud of my desire to consistently attain knowledge and increase my skills within new developments within a constantly evolving industry. In addition to forging connections and resources through networking and providing the greatest amount of opportunity for my client’s success in their own journeys, in addition to creating educated residents after the process. Through my desire to build a community within in-home, I also pride myself on the ability to form genuine and long-lasting connections with all of my clients. In my business, I strive to simplify real estate education, ease frustrations, and provide it in a technologically advanced and seamless manner. Thus equipping my clients with the knowledge and insight to start creating their own financial fortitude and begin the cycle of generational wealth building.
Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
For myself, personal development as a business owner and entrepreneur is very crucial. When reflecting on the most influential books I’ve read in regards to real estate, there are 2 books that come to mind immediately. The first book is “The Millionaire Real Estate Agent” by Gary Keller. This book is instrumental, and one I continue to revisit throughout my journey because it allows you to shift your mindset on operating your business as a business, and gives you the blueprint to implement in simple steps to create the ability to become a Millionaire Agent. Additionally, it brings a sense of truth and accountability to me, in ensuring that I continue to create a framework and business that I can: grow, improve, and allow to leverage to impact more people. The second book that is instrumental is “The Little Black Book” this is a book that has completely changed the way I had conversations with clients, new customers, and in my day-to-day relationships. It has completely restructured the thought process behind the: questions we ask, the psychology of effective communication, and how you are truly able to allow people to be heard while meeting their goals
The last instrumental videos and motivational speakers I have consistently valued through my journey are “The Secret to Success” Podcast and motivational videos with Eric Thomas. The thing I love about Eric Thomas is his ability to combine faith, lessons, wisdom, and leadership to help bring clarity to every situation you endure.. His story details the journey of his life. He was homeless, a high school dropout, to Entrepreneur, C.E.O., and Ph.D.! As the audience we join him on his journey and get to hear firsthand how Eric was able to defy the odds, and single-handedly break the negative generational cycles that plagued his family for decades. Thus ET, CJ, and Jamal teach you how you too can create the life you deserve.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy I’ve learned and implemented when it comes to growing my current clientele is networking. networking. networking! I cannot stress enough how important it is for you to network in your sphere, in your community, and with surrounding local businesses. Your sphere will be the first and one of the most important beacons of support in this and any industry. Your sphere and current and past clients will be your biggest sphere and opportunity to create lifelong connections and reference sources for you and your business. For myself, it’s important to truly build community. A good portion of my current client database was referrals from previous clients. In saying that, it is crucial that you create genuine relationships with people, and truly not just become their advocate for everything in real estate but in life with your connections and resources. The second most important strategy in growing clientele is additionally partnering with other local businesses you frequent. Forge quality relationships with small businesses, restaurants, eateries, coffee shops, and places you frequent and find how you can bring value to them. If you do not do anything else: advertise your business consistently, promote yourself daily, find a solid core of advocates for you, and find ways how you can truly help and bring value to others. Do these things and watch your business explode!
