Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

In a word, passion. No matter what industry you are in, if you have a passion for what you do, it will show! Your passion will drive you to always better yourself and your company. Passion will also be what attracts clients and keeps them coming back.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

I went to college for dance, I wanted to be a dance teacher. Unfortunately, I developed a heart condition while in college and could no longer dance. In 2010 I picked up a camera and just never put it down. I quickly learned everything I could and started shooting all the time. This became my new creative outlet. I have been shooting for 12 years now and love it more everyday. After a few years, I found my passion in photography. Photographing high school seniors. When I was in high school I had an eating disorder and had very poor self esteem. For this reason, my greatest joy in photography is being able to show teenagers how beautiful they actually are. To show them how everyone else see them. To highlight their personalities and natural beauty!
I do still photograph families and newborns, but my main focus is high school seniors. I have a senior model program each year. My models get to appear in my Lavish Grace Seniors Magazine!

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

In 2010 I started my business as Ashley Nicole Photography. When I picked this name, there were a few other Ashley Nicole Photography’s, but they were in other states. As the years went on, the name became more common. This year I realized that they were 3 other businesses with the same name in my area! After a lot of debating, I decided it was time to change my business name. After so many years in business, this was a hard decision. Deciding on a new name was so difficult! But in the end, I am so glad that I did it. So as of June of this year, I am officially Lavish Grace Photography now!

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Client experience! 90% of my business is referrals and word of mouth. My goal with every photoshoot is not only to deliver beautiful images, but to give them a photo experience that they will want to tell their friends about. My photo shoots are fun and uplifting. I strive to build up everyone who gets in front of my camera. I want them to leave the shoot feeling good about themselves.
