Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashley Cammisuli. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ashley, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For sure – I am Ashley Cammisuli, founder and owner of GLOW Beauty Bar Inc, Glowtox & Glow Institute. As an acne sufferer when I was young, I know how much acne can take a toll on ones confidence. Seeing clients confidence improve almost immediately right before my eyes inspired me and I realized how I could help improve the lives of those around me.
I began my career selling skin care and cosmetic products, and began operating a mobile beauty bar eventually incorporating additional services and such as spray tanning in 2014 and makeup applications in 2016.
I’ve had the opportunity to work in fashion shows, television, bridal, charity events, TIFF and much more!
After four years of running a mobile makeup services business, I then opened GLOW’s first boutique facial spa in April 2018. Since then, GLOW has had the privilege of being nominated over 10 times, has won Top Choice’s ‘Best Medi Spa in Etobicoke’, and has been awarded BlogTO’s ‘Top Spa in Toronto to get a Facial’. I am committed to providing all GLOW clients with the best results and unparalleled customer service.
We are so proud of our accomplishments thus far and are excited to be planning for a larger location, and franchising in future to help bring confidence and GLOWing skin across Canada.
I’ve further expanded my knowledge and I hold over 20 certifications, including my certification in medical aesthetics. I love learning and passing on knowledge to others which led me to being an instructor at Trillium Colleges Spa Program during the pandemic and launching my own online learning program, Glow Institute.
I have ALSO most recently introduced Glowtox – my own line of Beauty & Wellness products.
I set myself apart from others by being obsessed about my business and how we can make the client experience better and more streamlined to implement.
We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
Our membership program has evolved throughout the years and has been an imperial part of our client retention and loyalty. We wanted to give our members the best possible deals that nobody else is able to obtain.
Rolling out the red carpet and providing discounts for these regulars encourages repeat visits and purchases. With each visit and product purchase, our relationship and trust grows stronger as our clients begin to see results faster and the relationship with our staff deepens.
By offering surprise perks like a free Starbucks beverage on Valentines day, our members are continually surprised and delighted by our level of care.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
When I put my mind to work on something – it’s hard for me to give in and give up. Even if that includes having zero capital and relying solely on the bank for funding. Bank after bank, voicemail after voicemail, I was continually hunting someone ANYONE down who would return my call let alone work with me and provide funding. Eventually someone returned my call and was patient enough to assist me through the Canada Small Business loan process. Although initially denied of the funding, I tried again with another bank and after 7 long months I finally received the funding needed to begin our renovations. Did I mention I already had the retail space this entire time? I was dedicated to this project and not willing to take no for an answer. I was crazy enough to believe I could do it, and so I did! I just needed someone crazy enough to believe I could as well.
