Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashley Bennett. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Ashley, thanks for joining us today. The first dollar you earn in a new endeavor is always special. We’d love to hear about how you got your first client that wasn’t a friend or family.
I always created content for myself it was an outlet for me to express myself but I never saw it as anything more than a hobby.
There was a girl that owned a boutique who had been trying to get me to join her team for nearly 2 years but I didn’t see how I could package up what I did . Finally one day I saw her at an event and this girl spoke so much life in to me. I ended up calling her the next week..we set up a meeting and boom I was her creative director after about two months working with her I had accumulated more clients and I had to stop taking people on bc I just didn’t have the time because I still worked full time.
Once I realized my side hustle was bringing in more than my job I began to reevaluate things and ended up leaving my job Dec 2020 and haven’t looked back.
She and I worked together for one year and it taught me so much about entrepreneurship and longevity. I’m still thankful for her to this day for pulling me out of my shell and showing me my full potential.

Ashley, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I honestly fell in to what I do by simply stepping out on faith. One of the best decisions I made was taking on my first client scared and unsure.
As a digital marketing strategist I help small businesses create brand awareness online to attract new leads.
We focus on strategies to help them build their communities online through classes and courses designed with them in mind.
I am most proud of the progression I see with clients I literally am able to see a full transition with most of the people we assist.
What sets us apart is our level of integrity and the fact that we are still close enough to where our clients are to truly understand their needs.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I am actually in the middle of a rebrand now and it is overwhelming to say the least but a necessary move. We are moving in to a more online approach vs in person classes so we can reach more people.

Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
My business partner is my sister. She’s always been a part of my business as the photographer but she saw more and really began. he took an interest in what I was doing. As a professional photographer she was able to not only bring a different perspective but also help me add more value to my offer. She’s great with the behind the scenes day to day tasks and really just keeping us on track and on trend for our industry.
