We were lucky to catch up with Ashley Beeman recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ashley , thanks for joining us today. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
I have been in the wellness space since 2011. For over a decade I was personally lost in my own journey. I had put all of my worth into making my body smaller. No matter how small I got it was never enough. On top of that I was never truly able to maintain any of my own results. Which would lead me to resort to horrible ways to make myself smaller. At one point in my career I was highly addicted to stimulants (adderall) and I just felt like a fraud. If I couldn’t maintain my weight loss how could I help my clients. Eventually I gave up my addiction and went on a healing journey. Through this journey I was still focused on making my body smaller. Finally I had enough. I was frustrated and tried of yo-yo dieting. Really I was tired of fighting with myself. So I decided to heal my relationship to food, my body, and myself. I slowly stepped away from coaching weight loss clients and promised myself I would never step back into the wellness space again. Through my healing journey I gained 60lbs and become wildly unhealthy. I was finally at a point where my worth wasn’t tied to the way my body looked but I didn’t feel good. I decided to go on my own weight loss journey without sharing it with the world. The approach I took was vastly different then what I was doing in the past. I stopped focusing on quick results and really started focusing on showing up constantly for a long period of time. A year flew by and I had lost 25lbs without yo-yoing I was shocked and also excited so I kept going. Another year went by and lost another 25lbs. Eventually I went on to lose 60lbs and have kept it off now for over 4 years. I felt like I had found the missing link to what so many women were struggling with. As people started asking me what I was doing and for help I knew I had to jump back into the wellness space. It took me taking a step back and finding a sustainable approach to be able to come back Now I have helped almost 100 women lose weight in a sustainable way and I absolutely love what I do.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
I have been growing my business in the online space since 2011. Since that time there have been lots of pivots and changes. I went from being a weight loss coach with an MLM to being a life and business coach, to finally landing exactly where I am supposed to be being a fitness and nutrition coach.
Every time I made a pivot it felt so scary but every time I did and just simply trusted the process it worked out in my favor. Being truly authentic in my content and open with what was happening each time has lead me to have followers and clients that have been around for over a decade.
This last pivot I made a year ago back into the wellness space was probably the scariest for me. Not only did I tell myself but I also told the world that I would never go back to the wellness space again. I had to literally say I was wrong about a lot of things. I was so worried what people were going to think of me because I had been so loud about being anti-diet. What I found though was this was part of my journey that I absolutely needed to go through. I learned so many valuable lessons and sharing this all online allowed people to see who I really was deep down inside.
I am thankful I felt the resistance and jumped back in not just because my income has increased but because I am truly making the impact I had desired to make for years.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Showing up and creating content on social media has been the most effective way of growing my clientele besides word of mouth. I have created over 10,000 pieces of content and have consistently showed up almost everyday since 2011. When you show up authentically and share who you really are it builds trust pretty quickly. I find that showing up consistently is the best approach.
