Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashleigh Pachecano. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ashleigh, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Can you share a story about the kindest thing someone has done for you and why it mattered so much or was so meaningful to you?
The kindest thing anyone has ever done for me before was when I went to go get content of a new coffee shop that I had never been to before and the person in front of me paid for my coffee. I know it’s a small gesture to some but it was so kind and important to me because I was having a really bad day, and I felt like it kept a getting worse because I was constantly getting bad news after bad news and I felt like it was just not going my way, so I wanted to grab a coffee to boost my spirits. The person behind me had no idea who I was, what kind of day I was having, and offered to pay for me because they had an extra gift card and wanted to spend it on someone. As much as I had offered to pay for a pastry for them, they were so persistent that it would be on them and that I could pay it forward next time. They could have truly picked anyone else, and that day, I was so glad it was me because it felt like things were going to get better!
Ashleigh, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My love for supporting small and local businesses here in San Antonio has always had a special place in my heart. I have loved the community that we have built when it comes to supporting local, especially when COVID hit. Everyone came together to support, donate, and help as much as they could to keep these local businesses open and thriving! About a few years before starting my coffee page, I was talking about the idea with a coworker because we both loved going to the same local coffee shop down the road from work and we loved talking about new coffee shops/trucks that were about to open. Fast forward to 2022, my husband really encouraged me to start my Instagram page. I wanted to be able to post my own content of the coffee shops that I would visit to help encourage more people in our community to go out and support these locally owned coffee shops and trucks.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of this is being able to connect with the coffee community in San Antonio. Everyone has been so welcoming and inviting from the very beginning of my journey. I have been able to make so many amazing friends and connections because of this page and I hope to create even more friendships!
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My goal and/or mission that is driving my creative journey is that I want to be able to open up a coffee business myself. I feel like I have done a pretty decent job at the social media aspect of the coffee world, that I want to be able to shift gears and eventually learn the ropes of how to run and open a coffee shop or coffee roaster. Something that involves coffee of course. My love and passion for it is 100% there and I think once I get a little more experience of the in’s and out’s of brewing and how to properly poor a cappuccino, then one day, hopefully, I would love to open a coffee truck or shop!
