Hi Ashleigh , thanks for joining us today. Can you recount a story of an unexpected problem you’ve faced along the way?
What was unexpected was the feeling of being stuck at levels in business that you want to move through quickly but you don’t necessarily know how to get out of them. It’s the amount of time that you spend looking to find people who say they can help you and you’re not necessarily always getting the results that you want.
Honestly, I think a lot of this comes from knowing who you are and how you operate. 80 to 95% of business is understanding who you are and how you work. If you don’t do this well, you are going to continue to be stuck. You’re going to be doing things that you don’t want to do, take long to do, or just won’t do.
Operating against how you inherently would, causes issues in your business; cash flow issues, profit issues, hiring issues.
In getting to know myself, I’ve stopped questioning the way forward, so I’m always going to continue to hire even if I’ve hired the wrong person initially, I’m going to continue to test even if what I tried didn’t work before because, at the end of the day, I’m gathering data that’s going to help me move forward and help me make better decisions going forward
Knowing yourself is going to resolve a lot of issues in your business, your willingness to continue testing, to continue to not getting things right the first time is going to solve a lot of problems because the moment you stop is the moment that you actually fail. but if you look at every day and action in business as a data gathering quest then you’ll be able to move through business without the judgement of yourself.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Building relationships is what helped my reputation. Showing up and giving, and not living in scarcity. Anytime I showed up to speak, to be a guest expert, anytime I was coaching, anytime somebody asked me a question, I gave them the full answer.
I didn’t say that, “oh you have to pay me for this.” Yes, there is a point where you have to determine when you can’t continuously give your time. But when my time was scheduled, I gave everything that I had because I care about people’s businesses and I want them to have the full story. I honestly sometimes just feel like I can’t help myself which is great for everyone.
I also get results for my clients, I have testimonials, and my peers come to me for advice. I get tapped on the shoulder to speak, for my thoughts, and for my insights. My insights are rooted in foundations, fundamentals, experience, and expertise. I’ve shown that I’m someone that people can trust, and my name gets brought up often in rooms that I’m not in because of that and I am very grateful.
Where it all stemmed from is just the fact that I care. I didn’t start this business just to make money, but because my clients are impactful in the work that they do. It changes lives significantly, and that matters.

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
When it comes to dealing with risk and uncertainty, I’m innovative. I’m a great ideator. That’s where my strength lies.
I know my Enneagram, my Myers-Briggs, and my DISC. But this Kolbe assessment truly helped me understand who I am in relation to how I work. And this has completely transformed the way that I move in business. I have let go of things that I thought I was supposed to do, how I was supposed to do them, and how I was supposed to act.
