We recently connected with Ashlee Stewart and have shared our conversation below.
Ashlee, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Over the course of your career, have you seen or experienced your industry completely flip-flop or change course on something?
You know what’s crazy, I moved to Atlanta on a scholarship to be a chiropractor! 13 years later my career as a lifestyle blogger and traveling chef has grown leaps and bounds! I’m thankful for the people I met at Life University, and I’m really proud of my ability to pivot and go with the flow. I truly believe I’m walking in my purpose!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
Hey best friends, I’m Ashlee! I’m a lover of all things food, travel, and my new found passion for wellness/working out. I’m a Mississippi girl at heart, but I’m a Georgia peach now. My love for food blossomed in culinary school which lead me to meet some dynamic bloggers and influencers here, and I’m made some fantastic connections here. I found a love for solo travel after deciding to pack a bag and have a staycation in Chattanooga. Since then I’ve solo traveled to Denver, and the U.S.V.I and I’m making plans to hit the road soon…. No clue where to, but I’m excited!
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Whew, Living in Atlanta has made me a tough cookie! I’ve learned so much here, and one of the lessons I’ve had to unlearn is that I have to always be strong. The narrative of being a strong black woman was taught to me early on. Seeing strong, independent women around me all my life made me who I am. While I am both of those things, I’ve learned that it’s ok to live a “soft life” to ask for help, to be vulnerable. It’s opened my heart up so much.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I’m a believer in being authentically myself! I’m goofy, and random and I walk in my truth. I hope that people gravitate to my positive energy because they can sense that I am real person lol. I hope that I continue to create a space where people can look to me to help them put the fun in finding themselves!
