Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Ashkan Khodabakhsh. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Ashkan, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory of how you established your own practice.
Starting out was tough. Coming out of school with no money and a huge debt was a real challenge. I searched tirelessly and eventually found a chiropractor who was willing to let me work in his office for a significant percentage of what I brought in.
When I finally began building a base of patients, the chiropractor essentially kicked me out, leaving me to leave my patients behind and relocate elsewhere. I ended up renting a room just twice a week because that was all I could afford at the time. Slowly but surely, I expanded my practice to three times a week, and then I was able to rent a second room.
After some time, I took a big risk and decided to open my own office. Despite its small size, it was mine, and I couldn’t have been prouder. Starting out was incredibly tough, especially since I invested my entire life savings into the new office. Although things were slow at first, I worked tirelessly to the point where I didn’t have enough room for all of my patients.
I then took an even bigger risk and moved into an office three times larger than my last. This new office didn’t come without its challenges, though. I had a major dispute with the landlord that took about a year of litigation, but I ultimately emerged victorious.
Since 2008, I have established myself as the top chiropractor in Los Angeles. However, like many others, Covid hit my business hard. I learned that during tough times, it’s crucial to push even harder. So, I took a huge gamble and relocated my practice to Beverly Hills, where I grew up and always wanted to return.
As you might expect, overhead costs in Beverly Hills are significantly higher, but I knew I had to take the risk. And so far, it has paid off. We are still the top chiropractor in Los Angeles, and we’re now serving more celebrities, high-end clients, and athletes than ever before.
I then decided to take my talents to YouTube, and now we have over 1.5 million followers. My advice to my younger self and to any aspiring entrepreneur is to always strive for improvement. Look at everything from the perspective of your customer or patient, and ensure you’re always providing value for what they’re paying you.
Stay consistent, and always treat everyone well. If you provide exceptional service and are a good person, people will notice, and you will succeed.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
The lesson I had to unlearn was that I wasn’t worthy or as good as other people. Growing up as a child of divorce really affected my self-confidence, but it also instilled in me a hunger to prove myself and achieve despite the challenges. Even as I pursued my career as a chiropractor, I faced ridicule and mockery, with some saying I wasn’t a “real” doctor and dismissing my profession as quackery.
I made it my mission to challenge these misconceptions and prove that chiropractors are indeed real doctors who provide valuable hands-on therapy. My dedication to helping patients and my track record of success speak for themselves, and I refuse to let anyone undermine the legitimacy of my profession.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

Starting out was incredibly tough, especially since I invested my entire life savings into the new office. Although things were slow at first, I worked tirelessly to the point where I didn’t have enough room for all of my patients.
The biggest resilience story came when I took an even bigger risk and moved into an office three times larger than my last. This new office didn’t come without its challenges, though. I had a major dispute with the landlord that took about a year of litigation, but I ultimately emerged victorious. But the biggest challenge at that time was suffering a head injury right after I signed the lease. Dealing with a severe concussion, the landlord issue, remodeling, setting up the new office, and fighting a frivolous lawsuit all at the same time was really challenging. The head injury alone was/is something I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. But when I came out of all that, I told myself if I can deal with everything I just dealt with, I can do anything.
