We recently connected with Asani Lewis and have shared our conversation below.
Asani, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Article 3 isn’t just about design—it’s about creating legacy. And legacy isn’t just what’s seen; it’s what’s felt. It’s the impact a design leaves long after the moment has passed—the way it speaks without words, the way it connects people to a vision. Every piece I craft is purpose-driven, designed to stand the test of time and serve as a statement, not just a decoration. My mission is to create work that carries meaning, translating a message with depth, clarity, and impact.
This journey is personal. I’ve always believed that design has power—the power to inspire, elevate, and to make a lasting impression. Article 3 is built on the foundation that great design doesn’t fade; it resonates. It’s timeless, impactful, and crafted with intention. It’s about creating an experience, something that moves people, something that aligns with the heart of a brand or message.
What makes this mission meaningful to me is the people behind the brands. I care about the story, the passion, the purpose. It’s not about trendy visuals or temporary aesthetics; it’s about creating a foundation that small businesses and individuals can stand on, grow from, and be proud of. When I design, I’m not just delivering a product—I’m building something that aligns with vision, values, and longevity. That’s why I do this. That’s why Article 3 exists.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My name is Asani’ Lewis, I am a 25 year old graphic designer and social media manager. My journey into graphic design was unexpected, yet it has become an integral part of my creative and professional identity.
In 2021, during my last year of college, I found myself exploring the world of graphic design without ever planning for it to be a hobby, career, or creative outlet. I always envisioned myself as a business owner, but I never thought my path would lead to graphic design. With a background in Marketing, my focus was on learning strategies to one day grow my own business. However, life had other plans for me.
A close friend of mine owned a graphic design business and offered classes for $250. Seeing an opportunity to expand my skills, I made the investment and immersed myself in learning Photoshop. That decision turned out to be a pivotal moment in my career.
After graduating, I began creating graduation flyers, birthday cards, billboards, and logo recreations. What started as an experiment quickly became a passion. It felt as though graphic design had chosen me rather than the other way around. Over the years, I have picked up and put down the art, but it has remained my creative outlet for the past four years.
Now, as a graphic designer and social media manager, I am deeply committed to helping small businesses and individuals bring their visions to life with powerful, intentional, and visually compelling designs. My work isn’t just about making things look good—it’s about crafting a brand presence that speaks, resonates, and inspires. I pour passion and intention into every detail because I know that great design isn’t just seen—it’s felt.
I offer a range of design services that elevate brands and create impact:
Text-based logos & brand boards
Standard flyers & business cards
Custom content posts
Billboard designs
Logo recreations
Standard Instagram covers
Custom Acuity websites
Beyond design, I also provide purpose-driven social media management, ensuring that brands don’t just exist online—they thrive. My approach is rooted in strategy, consistency, and engagement, offering:
One-on-one direction calls
Brand color scheme & font alignment
Tailored social media strategy (2 weeks)
Editable Adobe templates for content
Content creation (posts, captions, images)
Scheduling and posting
Basic analytics and reporting
Community engagement (replying to comments & DMs)
Weekly strategy meetings
Reel editing (event video and audio for content)
What sets me apart is my deep commitment to improving small business branding. My passion is people, but my drive is change. I focus on connection—does this relationship align with me? How can I truly assist you? What is your vision? I want to build relationships rooted in trust and purpose. For me, this is where passion meets intention—it’s not about chasing profit, but about creating something meaningful and lasting. I want to help, I want to understand, and most importantly, I want to see your foundation thrive. My work is more than design—it’s about empowering the people behind the brand to build something strong and impactful.
I am most proud of the impact my work has on my clients. Whether it’s helping a small business develop a professional brand presence or designing a social media campaign that drives engagement, I take pride in knowing that my designs contribute to my clients’ success.
For those who are considering working with me, I want you to know that my approach is collaborative, purpose-driven, and rooted in a genuine passion for bringing visions to life. Graphic design is more than just a service I provide—it’s a way for me to help small businesses and individuals express their identities and tell their unique stories through impactful branding, thoughtful marketing assets, and strategic social media management.
As I continue this journey, my mission remains the same: to create, inspire, and make an impact—one design at a time.

Are there any resources you wish you knew about earlier in your creative journey?
Absolutely—certifications and designer courses! In the beginning, I relied heavily on YouTube and the guidance of my one and only mentor in graphic design. I had no idea how deep this field truly was. Looking back, I wish I had known about the certification programs offered by local colleges—many of which provide financial aid or affordable out-of-pocket options. But beyond formal education, one of the biggest game-changers is community. Instagram is more than just a platform—it’s a tool for growth. FIND YOUR PEOPLE. Identify your specialty, seek out designers in your niche, and immerse yourself in the community. Invest in the courses, buy the digital eBooks, and step outside your comfort zone by joining an Instagram graphic design challenge. Social media isn’t just for showcasing your work—it’s a resource that, when used intentionally, can expand your creativity, sharpen your skills, and connect you with opportunities you never imagined.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Old-school networking and word of mouth—without a doubt. At the core of it all is customer service. When you’re truly passionate about what you do, it shows in your work, your communication, and your relationships. Meeting deadlines, being transparent, listening to your clients, and delivering quality work—those are the things that bring people back. But more importantly, they create genuine, lasting connections.
What I’ve learned is that people don’t just refer you because of your work; they refer you because of how you made them feel during the process. They speak on your customer service before they even mention your designs. That’s why building meaningful relationships has been my most effective strategy—not just for growing clientele, but for creating a network of people who truly believe in what I do.
