We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful ArTrell. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with ArTrell below.
ArTrell, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Folks often look at a successful business and imagine it was an overnight success, but from what we’ve seen this is often far from the truth. We’d love to hear your scaling up story – walk us through how you grew over time – what were some of the big things you had to do to grow and what was that scaling up journey like?
Yeah I’m definitely in a bigger art scene than when I first started. I really wasn’t doing too many art events or “ArtWalks” for a long time. My main strategy was basically to just paint a lot and learn as I go. See what reactions I get from the people and also see what reactions I gave myself and that was mostly looking at what I can do better. Of course as I got better at my craft from continuously painting and I do mean hours and hours and practice; the people started to notice me more and I myself could se the progress in skill.. After a couple of years of that then I started attending outdoor events and small art shows encouraging more with the Art community and learning still, taking notes. A major part or strategy would be how I kept going to community events like SB Food Fest etc , staying involved in the community and surrounding communities was key for growing an audience and supporting local events.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Been in art since I was younger but switched over to strictly painting around 2017 and never looked back. I love painting because I feel you can fixed anything with paint. What sets me apart is I use a crosshatching that is mainly used with pen and pencil not a paint brush
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Make sure they understand my style of art, communicating my schedule and painting times before I receive any from them and asking for trust , time and control
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Staying involved in shows and exhibitions. I don’t really make any appearances during the winter due to weather and all and I’ve learned that’s basically a “down time” so I would definitely say being involved with the shows and always trying to post new paintings as much as I can.
