Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Arthur Walsh. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Arthur, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you share an important lesson you learned in a prior job that’s helped you in your career afterwards?
I used to work as a software engineer and consultant, which was all about fast problem solving and picking up new skills quickly. So as a musician / entrepreneur, I have no problem learning new technologies, and my creative side helps me piece these aspects together to make something new.

Arthur, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I studied Psychology before becoming a software engineer, which i did for 5 years until I was accepted to BerkleeNYC. After my studies I’m now working on rebuilding my career as an artist. I provide music whose heart is in folk, but the body can take different shapes, sometimes electronic sometimes indie. I don’t ever want to be stuck with one sound. My whole life I will be experimenting and trying new things.
As a recording artist and augmented Reality artist, I have plans to help shape the future of indie entertainment by being an early adopter of emerging technologies, and figuring out how to turn them into immersive, subject oriented, interactive experiences. I believe AR glasses are going to be the next iphones, and when that happens, suddenly the whole world is a canvas, so as your listening to my music walking along, you’ll walk by my characters, see the colour of my sky, if you walk fast the music will be uptempo. I like to build worlds and feel lucky to be an era that allows you to share these worlds with other people.
On social media you can see the worlds I’m building and my characters brought to life in a live action format. I do skits and perform my songs with my band members, who are all characters I’ve created.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
I didn’t think I was a creative person for ages as thats just not the environment i grew up in, creativity wasn’t encouraged or admired really in any way. But looking back I realised I was having ideas constantly, in the only way I think I allowed myself to which was through business ideas. A few of them I even tried out. Then when I started actually working on my craft, and being able to wake up in the morning, take my ideas and actually make something happen with them was a huge relief for me amidst my software engineering day to day, and then I just got hooked to it and wont ever look back. Now I hardly ever let an idea go to waste, its like I’m building a whole world around my music, with characters and stories, so theres always somewhere to fit an idea, even if its years later. Also being able to say things through music that I couldn’t or wouldn’t say in person. Arthur tries to express emotion.

Alright – so here’s a fun one. What do you think about NFTs?
I think for creatives there another way to create income, and there are ways to think creatively about the products and experiences your providing. They can help build community. Currently though you’re restricted by people who are into web3.
When Augmented reality becomes more mainstream I think NFTS’s will find they’re purpose then. As we will be buying and selling a lot more digital products.
