We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Arthur Matthews a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Arthur, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
My father owned a mom and pop grocery store like in the neighborhood where you would buy your bread or cigarettes. This was in Boynton Beach. FL. From the age of 10 yrs old until I graduated chiropractic school 2001, is when he retired and sold his store for profit. During the course of those years, I learned that the name Rainbow city groceries represented the diversity of the neighborhood. It was a “everybody neighborhood” and that is where the name originated from. In 2013, is when I opened up Rainbow City Chiropractic. In 2020, we shortened it to RC Chiropractic. It is an homage to my dads grocery store.

Arthur, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Dr. Matthews: “The Body Mechanic”.
Everyone if they’ve driven a car long enough has experienced a breakdown of some sort bad enough to send to a car mechanic to fix. Dr. Matthews considers himself a “body mechanic”. “I’m here to keep your body on the road, so to speak” , says Dr.Matthews. “ You need a specialist(s) to help maintain the integrity of your body and the stress you put it through on a daily basis. Father time is undefeated, don’t let that check engine light stay on too long because things can get worse. In other words. Don’t let your issues take over. Chronic issues take longer to treat. If you let an injury get worse or better yet, ignore it, your body may not be able to recover as well as you’d like. The perfect client for Dr.Matthews is those that need pain relief, car accident injuries, work on a CPU long hours, athletes (especially tennis/pickleball/body building/golf). “My low force (no twisting or contorting of the spine) technique is a unique treatment, used by elite athletes to enhance performance yet, this technique is ideal for everyone.”

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele has been our office and teacher appreciation programs.Which consists of free complimentary 10-minute onsite chair massages, for staff and employees, no matter the size of the company or school. As well as, participating in as many community events as possible. People want to interact with people. What we have found is that face-to-face interactions transition into better clientele. People want to meet the Doctor.

We’d love to hear about how you keep in touch with clients.
I keep in touch with clients and foster brand loyalty through social media posts, texts, and emails about the latest and greatest that’s going on at RC Chiropractic. Including patient testimony.
