Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Artemis (Art) Anaied . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Artemis (Art) , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
In elementary school I had two friends, Jazzenee and Ebony, and we made up a group called “The Angels”. Of course as kids we’re just having fun, but I took it very seriously. I made us a logo, flyers and even starting writing music for us (that we never performed). That’s what initially sparked my interest in music and songwriting. Later on, I studied communications and marketing because whenever my friends would tell me about an idea, I’d kind of go crazy on the details. It was such a rush to see ideas in my head and see how to bring them to life so clearly.
Artemis (Art) , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For those who don’t know me, I go by Art,
I’m an art director, songwriter and creative enthusiast. I found my way into the creative industry because simply put, I love creating. I decided to create a life and career that I didn’t want or need a vacation from and it kind of took off from there. Me sharing that decision really helped provide a lot of opportunities for me to fully step into it. As an art director, I provide brand content, visual aesthetics and creative direction to collaborate and bring ideas to life from an outside perspective. I think what makes me different, is that I want to collaborate. I don’t want to make all these ideas come to life by myself, I want to hear how different peoples imagination works and see how we can merge our minds to create something beautiful and equally unique. I’m most proud of taking the risk and knowing that I could be great at something that I’d never done before. The goal of my brand is to encourage everyone to embrace their whole selves and explore all of the fun and unrelated parts. Creating, collaborating and being.
What do you find most rewarding about being creative?
The most rewarding part of being an Art Director is that every single project is different. Even if it’s within the same art form, every person, idea, and vision is going to be different. I’m never doing the same thing twice.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
The goal for my brand and I, is to collaborate with creatives in all industries and to encourage others to do the same in whatever respective roles. Creating isn’t working, it’s living. And everyone deserves to live a life they love.
