Art, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to go back in time and hear the story of how you came up with the name of your brand?

My business, Art By Definition (ArtXDefinition), came to me as I was always told by my mother that I needed a name that encapsulates everything I do. I do art in all forms so it is art defined by me. This Art By Definition was born.. It’s a play on my name, Artisan.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

So I got into tattooing really by chance. I started out like everybody else. Got my first tattoo at 18. Got 2 or 3 more a few years later but they were BAAAAAD! So I figured if anyone is going to mess up my skin it should be me. As I’ve always been artistic it just flowed for me.

Now as I’m growing I’m learning my own style. Once I solidify myself within that I’ll be closer to where I want to be.

Have you ever had to pivot?

A major pivot in my life was definitely Covid. That was a major turning point for my business. I got so much recognition during that time that really catapulted me into perfecting my craft.

Can you talk to us about how your side-hustle turned into something more.

Tattooing was never my side hustle but I wouldn’t say it was my job either. It was truly my passion that turned into freedom.

I always tell people “I’m out here living on faith”. I sincerely mean that. I stayed consistent in my delusion. I know that sounds crazy but I literally say I want something in the highest form then reach for it. I put trust that the universe will carry me if I do the work.
