Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Arson Sefi. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Arson, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you tell us the backstory behind how you came up with the idea?
I first came up with the idea for my services after I was contacted by a random person on social media to do a photoshoot because they liked my digital art work. This person wanted me to photograph them and then make a character design/ digital illustration of them from the photos I took. This made me happy as no one had ever asked me to draw them. I got excited and ended up buying my first Sony camera in 2018. I did my first shoot in February and captured plenty of photos to edit and work with. I really enjoyed the organic process of taking photos and genuinely trying to capture someone’s character or essence with my camera. That same first year I started doing video, nude photography and high fashion work, earning my first magazine publications and producing my first music video.
I fell in love with the craft and kept creating art with people who love what they do and that’s when I decided that Id start my own business as a creative visual producer. I never knew if this would be a successful venture nor did I ever think about making money. I just knew I found something that makes me feel really good inside especially when it helps out or makes other people happy. Ultimately things kind of just snowballed and led from one connection to the next then contract after contract here we are still building our craft and maintaining our business. It never gets any easier but it always gets better!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve always been someone who doesn’t like money so one of the first challenges I encountered when I started my business was taking on jobs without having to feel bad about making money. I love what I do, helping to bring peoples ideas to life through taking photos or video and editing files to make something mesmerizing is something I’m very grateful to do. Mixing business and money with love just never felt right to me, luckily the people I’ve worked with are some of the most mindful and respectful people that I get to meet and doing what I love hasn’t felt like a dirty business transaction yet! ” Knock on wood”. I primarily work in the fashion and music industry and I’ve mainly kept my business going because I notice not to many people are genuine in the industry, allot of people do what they do for hype, chasing fame or money. Ultimately its the artist who keep creating regardless of fame or money who truly keep any craft alive and I take pride in being able to help & work with these artists from all around the world!
Anytime I do a shoot whether its photo or video my goal is to genuinely capture something organic and honest, something with substance that will make people feel or think something more then just what they see. The people and art always come first! Were all about being mindful and genuine while capturing and producing organic content!

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
I once turned down thousands of dollars to produce a music video that I could’ve easily done but chose to go do a free shoot instead. Why? Because the shoot that was offering to pay me good money involved music that I genuinely didn’t care for. I’m not in the creative business for money and I would very much rather let someone else who actually likes the content to get the job.
Being honest with myself in what I do, with who and why is a big part of my journey. For me art and people come first above all else. If ever I’m concerned about money I go work regular jobs to make that money but I wont tarnish my passion to go out of my way for money. I’m not sure if these concepts are something todays artists understand ?

Any resources you can share with us that might be helpful to other creatives?
Everyone is a resource and as long as you are genuine with yourself and your craft the right people will somehow come around and your network will begin to flourish and bloom! I wish I put myself out there and interacted with more people earlier in my career however I don’t regret anything. We’ve all got a different process and path of growth going in life.
