Alright, Arslan thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s talk about innovation. What’s the most innovative thing you’ve done in your career?
When the pandemic began in the year 2020, the world around us shut down. We were forced to vacate to our homes and I quickly realized that in this drastic move the world was still running, but my business was put to a complete stop. Anxiety soon hit, when I realized people coming in to shop was no longer the ideal method of making money. This was when a light bulb went off in my head. I began selling online. While the world had been shut off, I began pushing my merchandise online. I have been successfully selling and shipping my merchandise all over the US since 2020. Making new customers all while expanding my business both online and in our local community.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I started out in the Jewelry industry when I was 18 years old, I am now 34years old. Observing, and training with bench jewelers and understanding the backends of the sales counter, training in customer service, and most importantly learning how to handle and maintain the business aspect of it. I quickly became a leader in my team, as well as a preferred go to salesmen from my admired customers. I love what I do, the interaction and professional relationships that I have built along the way. It’s a very driven task when it comes to making sure my customers are satisfied with the work and most importantly with the service. My reward is the appreciation from my customers. Being my own business owner for about 15 years now, since I first opened my own store in 2008, has given me the biggest opportunity to adapt to the growing world around me. Managing and upgrading in merchandise that I carry, and the method in which I sell to my customers, both local and nation wide. I have diligently pushed myself in adapting how to grow in our business. More importantly supporting my team in this growth. They grow, I grow. We work together as a team. They are the team that has helped build Ijaz Jewelers, they will help make Ijaz Jewelers a national brand in the not so far future.
This sets us apart. Making sure my team knows their importance in this company, as we progress in our personal growths and business expenditure.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Consistency and transparency with our customers is key. These two main factors helped me gain the reputation that my company is known for. Customers have the right to know what they are buying, where it comes from, and the quality it took to make it. Customers need the trust that prices wont fluctuate based on the amount of money that is want to make. They deserve to know the reason for any price changes in the market and why certain prices are set.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Had it not been for covid, it would not have allowed me to force think a way of continuing my business. Covid was a terrible time for businesses. Unfortunately many businesses closed down, but with God’s blessings I was able to maintain and grow our company. During the covid times I took to going live, almost daily. It was a form of entertainment and enlightenment. My team and I gave education on precious metals, and precious stones. Doing live videos and uploading them to all social media platforms. This was a major role in building our clientele online.
When customers began reaching out online and getting the positive feed back from all those customers, both current and new. This was when we discovered a jackpot, AND a spotlight. Knowing that the online clientele was growing, we adapted and advanced our video and editing strategies.
Consistency to anything you do is KEY.
