We recently connected with ArrKeicha Danzie and have shared our conversation below.

ArrKeicha , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. One of the toughest things about entrepreneurship is that there is almost always unexpected problems that come up – problems that you often can’t read about in advance, can’t prepare for, etc. Have you had such and experience and if so, can you tell us the story of one of those unexpected problems you’ve encountered?

Along with all of the world…the pandemic has been the most unexpected problem I.ve faced since starting my business in August 0f 2019. I think at one point we had to cancel some 17 events because ALL in person events had been canceled. We quickly began to think outside the box and my comfort zone by having a more “digital” presence.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

I started this business out of a necessity to have a treat I could fell good about giving my very on fur baby, understanding that there must be other health conscience pet owner who shared my concern and there was. Giving our pets treats that are not only for to them but more importantly good for them gives them longevity in life and to me that is the purest definition of HAPPINESS. I get asked often what sets me apart for others and the answer is always “ME” and the love and passion I have for what I do and who I do it for…the dogs!!!

Can you talk to us about how your funded your business?

I won a grant competition and use those funds to start Good Boy Goodies!

Have you ever had to pivot?

Pivot was a very important word when starting a new business during the pandemic. Our initial point of sales was to be fairs, markets and festival but because of the pandemic all those were being canceled so we had to “pivot” to a more e-commerce concept.
