We were lucky to catch up with Arri Joni recently and have shared our conversation below.
Arri, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start big picture – what are some of biggest trends you are seeing in your industry?
I see a lot of changing the things that makes you unique and distinct to become this person that society says is more acceptable.

Arri, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well my name is Arri Joni. I’m a Christian rap artist from Saint Louis Mo. My journey as a Christian rap artist started when I decided to follow Jesus Christ. I used to do secular music so I always had that passion for music and I didn’t want to give it up. So I just converted my messages over into something positive and uplifting. So many people tells me that my music inspires them to keep striving when they feel like they want to tap out. Also I have had people tell me that they don’t even listen to Christian hip hop but when they hear me they said they enjoy it and want more. I’m most proud of my decision to follow Jesus Christ. This has made my life more fulfilling and worth living . Everyday is an adventure with Christ.I believe my unique appearance and confidence helps me to stand out from the most. Also my ability to influence. I just want others to know you can listen to music that’s giving a positive message and still be able to dance, relax , or just chill as you would music that’s not giving any positive feedback.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn to stop expecting everyone to understand you or to have the same type of morals as you. Everyone comes from different backgrounds therefore we all view things based off how we were raised. You can only be yourself and vice versa. It’s okay to try something new if it’s beneficial for you. It’s okay to have disagreements and different beliefs as to how we feel something should go. As long as we make sure we keep the peace between us.

Have you ever had to pivot?
I had to work along side of some people that I knew for sure didn’t like me. It was very difficult at first but then once I started showing love to them despite their dislike of me their whole viewpoint of me changed and I won them over.
