Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Armani Yett. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Armani, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
Yes, it has its challenges though. I’ve worked a regular job before, the security was nice, but I was miserable. I actually think about getting a regular job often. Pursuing a creative career pushes you to the edge of insanity in my opinion. There’s these highs and lows constantly. One week I feel like I’m where I’m supposed to be another I feel like a failure. The last time I thought about just getting a regular job was when I was late on my car payment and I realized I would have to pay my upcoming rent with my credit card.
Armani, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Armani Jaquan, I’m from Cincinnati, OH and I currently reside in Atlanta GA.
I decided to venture into the music industry when I realized I wasn’t really living my life. Since then I’ve been building my skills as an creative. Songwriting, music production, audio engineering, and videography are some of the skills I’ve picked up since seriously committing in 2018.
I’m just proud that I’m able to continue growing and moving forward.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
Being able to see or hear something you’ve created and noticing your growth.
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
I’m pursuing a career just like you. How would I sound if I told told you to give up if you aren’t the CEO of a company within 5 years?
