We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Armani Maison. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Armani below.
Hi Armani , thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Every Project.
I always strive to infuse a part of myself into everything I create.
Whether it’s through writing or painting, all my work originates from within. And boy am I excited to see it evolve into something greater than I ever thought was possible.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Everything I know about fashion and art, I taught myself during a time when I didn’t know who I was. I had no clue what my place in this life would be, but I was sure I was meant for more than what my people were dealing with.
At one time, I believed that my friends were like brothers to me. They shamed me for not pursuing conventional education and forcing myself into a career i didn’t care for. Instead, I took the time to my find my true path.
And so far I have.
Three years later, I sold my very first art piece ever for over $8,000. At the time, I wasn’t actively trying to sell any of my paintings; I was simply creating art to improve my skills.
From that moment onwards, my confidence, which had been hidden, began to emerge and has been growing ever since.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
Embracing the opportunity to become more connected with your true self.
I believe that it is a superpower to be yourself and to love who you are becoming, regardless of your circumstances. You have the tools to shape your vision on all of this. There are different levels to becoming yourself, and finding beauty in that is the ultimate blessing.
Do you think there is something that non-creatives might struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can shed some light?
The more you let go, the more the universe holds on to you and your ambitions.
I have come to realize the power of my creativity and mindfulness. The less I worry about others’ opinions, the happier I become.
As a creator, it’s important to prioritize your own vision. People appreciate your work when they see that it’s influenced by your unique experiences and personal drive.
The moment you start creating for others instead of yourself is the moment the artist within you ceases to exist.
But he is also reborn and will be living once the cycle of searching for intolerable acceptance is broken. Love your work, be proud of it, and who you are is all I try to tell my friends and family.
