We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Arielle Moire-Selvage. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Arielle below.
Arielle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Are you happy as a creative professional? Do you sometimes wonder what it would be like to work for someone else?
I am thrilled to be an artist and to create! It is so life-giving, rewarding and healing for me. While I currently do other work to support my music, I often dream about the day that I will be able to invest the majority of my time and energy into being an artist. I would love to make music full time, recording and performing my own music, as well as working with other artists.

Arielle, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I was born in Los Angeles and raised from the age of three on the Big Island of Hawaii. I grew up surrounded by music and started writing songs, playing piano and singing in choruses in grade school. I later learned to play the guitar as a teenager and expanded my song writing into a professional career in my 20s, performing in front large audiences all over the world. My father, Tony Selvage, is a very talented violinist and I have had the honor of having him accompany me live, as well as featured on two of my tracks. I began my solo career as a singer-songwriter and performing musician at the beginning of 2021. I am working on my first album “Shine” which will be released in 2024. I have also done professional studio work (back up vocals on projects and performances) and performed at a handful of weddings and events, which have been very special experiences for me. Music is my passion and I am so grateful to be able to share my voice with the world!

For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is getting the feedback from listeners and fans that they are touched, encouraged, and or can relate to my songs in a meaningful way. I have had some very positive and meaningful responses and feel like my stories and songs make a real difference in people’s lives. I learned from my father how music is so healing.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
One of my main goals right now is to release an album and hopefully gain a wider audience. I am two songs shy from reaching this big milestone, so I’m very close! I have also always wanted to form a band to perform with me locally in LA and play at events, festivals, and even go on a tour one day. I love to travel and meet other artists in places all over the U.S. and abroad. Some recent highlights was a song writing workshop in Nashville and Yosemite and I also performed at a few places while on holiday in Scotland and Ireland. Music is univsersal and brings us all together in a deeper way.
