We recently connected with Ariel Harrell and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Ariel thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
In 2020, I was solo traveling around Europe when I stopped in Amsterdam! One morning, the smell of warm pancakes stopped me in my tracks. I followed it to a small stand where a sweet local woman was making mini pancakes, flipping them fresh right in front of everyone. I watched people gather around, laughing and chatting, while she poured batter onto the griddle in neat little circles and topped them with powdered sugar, chocolate, and fresh strawberries. It felt like such a simple joy, but it brought people together.
I tried them and instantly thought, “Why don’t we have this back home?” I knew then that I wanted to recreate that feeling, not just the pancakes, but the experience of watching them made fresh, choosing your toppings, and sharing a moment of sweetness with friends and family.
That’s how Arie’s Mini Stacks was born! The desire to bring people together through simple, happy treats that remind you life’s little moments!

Ariel, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Ariel, but for short all my friends call me Arie! I am a licensed nurse, wife, mama of 1 and a world traveler! I love caring for people, whether it’s through nursing or serving up sweet mini pancakes! Serving others and giving back to the community are my favorite things! I’m most proud of how my business brings people together. Seeing customers smile, connect, and create happy memories over my mini stacks make everything worth it.

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
For me personally at Arie’s Mini Stacks there are a few ways we source new customers!
*In-person markets and pop-ups. People see, smell, and taste our product live, creating instant trust and impulse buys.
*Word of mouth and referrals. Happy customers tell their friends and family!
*Social media, especially Instagram and Facebook. Posting photos, reels, and location tags from events help new people find us and see what we offer before meeting in person.
Event catering and private bookings. Each party or corporate event exposes us to dozens of new potential customers.
Vendor collaborations or cross-promotions. Partnering with local coffee shops, dessert vendors, and kids’ event planners bring in their loyal followers and helps us!

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn is that everything has to be perfect before I start. I realized progress and showing up consistently matter way more than perfection. I am still working on this though! I’m definitely trying my best haha!
