We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Arianna Reyes. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Arianna below.
Arianna , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
I am originally from Mexico. My mother who lives in Mexico is an Evangelist. She visits the most vulnerable communities that live around the place where she lives. Through her I have been able to hear the needs of my people. I have prayed for guidance on how to help them, I combined my taste for jewelry with my passion to help, this is how Lighthouse Boutique was born. The purpose of our small business is to give a helping hand to men, women and children who are going through a vulnerable time, providing them food, clothing and medicine, but above all sharing the love of God. Our mission is that with each piece we sell a percentage of our sales is donated to different institutions here in the United States and in other countries.
GENEROSITY PRODUCES GENEROSITY.
What started as a small business has become one of the most rewarding things for me. I have been able to travel to Mexico and Peru on mission trips bringing meals, praying for needs and sharing God’s love, but I noticed something that caught my attention, people with grateful hearts for our visit shared with us what they had, in every house we entered they gave us fruits when we left
Many times we think we are going to give and end up receiving more! With a full heart, sowing God’s love in others always produces a good harvest.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello! My name is Arianna Reyes and I am the founder and owner of Lighthouse Boutique. I am originally from Mexico. I came to the United States in 2011, I am the wife of my husband Jeff and I am a proud mother of my two children, Paulina and Nico. I started Lighthouse Boutique because through my mother, who still lives in Mexico and works closely with her community. I could see such a deep need within my own people. So, with my love for my people in my home country, my love for jewelry, and my love for giving and showing the love of Christ, Lighthouse Boutique was born. I started Lighthouse at 2021. At first, it was just an Instagram page where people could order individually, but as my business grew, so did my platform. I started a website and started having booths at various pop up stores locally in Chattanooga, TN. I couldn’t do this without people like you contributing to Lighthouse! My jewelry is stainless steel, gold plated, very good quality, some of my jewelry I make, some I buy, and others I buy I tear them apart and make them to my liking, I’m also starting to design my own jewelry and that has me very excited!!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
This has not been easy and many times I have thought about giving up, but I always remember each person that I have had the opportunity to help, the need and being able to do something for others. I realize that this business is not just mine or for me. There are people who need a helping hand, a prayer, a hug, a word of encouragement, so I could say that this is a job for God and I want to honor him and be faithful in everything I do.
How did you put together the initial capital you needed to start your business?
I work as a Spanish teacher at a Christian school full time.
