We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Arianna David. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Arianna below.
Arianna, appreciate you joining us today. Looking back, do you think you started your business at the right time? Do you wish you had started sooner or later
Honestly, if I could do it over, I would’ve started my business sooner. I really started taking makeup seriously in 2020, right after the pandemic hit. Like most people, I had a lot of free time—and instead of just sitting around, I started practicing on myself, doing both makeup and hair. Funny enough, that year was actually a peaceful time for me. I didn’t have many worries, I loved the quiet of quarantine, and I was still getting paid without having to leave home.
Looking back, it was the perfect setup to launch something of my own. I was younger, with less to lose, and I think I would’ve moved with a lot more fearlessness. That kind of freedom and focus doesn’t come around often, and I definitely wish I had taken advantage of it earlier.
Arianna, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Makeup became a part of my life back in 2017. I grew up in a strict household where makeup wasn’t really allowed until you were 21, so I started by secretly watching tutorials and learning the basics on my own. It wasn’t until the pandemic hit that I really dove in—quarantine gave me the time and space to explore, practice, and fall in love with the art of makeup. I practiced on myself, my friends, and family, just building my skills and confidence.
Fast forward to 2025, I finally stepped out of my comfort zone and launched my business, The Luxe Factory. That same year, I met James while doing someone’s makeup and was invited to be a part of his short film—that experience really solidified that I was on the right path.
What I’m most proud of is how much my business has grown. It might not be overnight success, but it’s real, it’s steady, and it’s mine. My goal with The Luxe Factory is bigger than just makeup—I want to build confidence in my clients and show them how makeup can be a gateway to creativity and self-expression
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
For me, the best source of new clients has been a mix of social media and in-person events like pop-up shops and networking gatherings. Social media is an incredible tool—it allows you to showcase your work, reach a wide audience, and connect with potential clients from anywhere. But honestly, the real magic happens when you get out there and advocate for yourself face-to-face.
There’s something powerful about that personal connection. When people meet you in person, they get to see your passion, your personality, and your artistry up close. It creates a sense of trust and relatability that you just can’t replicate online. That balance between digital presence and real-world engagement has been key to growing my clientele and building meaningful relationships in the industry.
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
Right now, I’m in one of the most challenging and transformative seasons of my life. As I mentioned earlier, that fear of the unknown can be incredibly overwhelming—it creeps in and makes you question everything, even the decisions you were once so sure about.
There have been moments, especially recently, where I’ve felt like giving up more than ever before. But through it all, I’ve learned that the key is to keep pushing, even when it’s hard. You have to lean on faith, trust God’s timing, and keep showing up for yourself and your vision. If you truly believe it’s meant for you, it will come to life—you just have to stay the course.
